DOATS1 said: wow, some really shocking comments in this thread lol. sony have lost this generation, but it doesn't mean they're out for good. if that was the case then nintendo shouldn't be here either. somebody mentioned in this thread that sony out of the gaming market is better for every gamer. that's just plain stupid. each of these companies make a console that appeals to somebody, that's why people are buying them. more competition = better for every gamer imo.
there will obviously be another generation of consoles, which i think will be far more competitive than this one. |
Wtf are you talking about? Did you know that even gamecube was profitable? Nintendo has been pissing gold since it came to market(And before that as a toy company.). Sometimes it doesn't do it all the time, but hey it doesn't throw money for enlargement pumps etc.
(Hopefully you understand the figures of speech I am using here. :D)

I think his "comeback" refers to marketshare not profit as in going from "last place" to "first place". M$ was widely regarded as 2nd place last gen but we all know that they didn't make anything but losses in their gaming division last gen.
Also, to all the "ps3 is doomed" whistleblowers on these threads, I gotta ask you something: would you consider the ps3 dead if there was no other console to compare it to i.e if it was selling a steady 200,000 WW at $400 and there was no wii or 360?

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.
It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler
