| ChronotriggerJM said: Ug, anyway back again ^^; I mean what a hack as in this. To me, the offerings of netflix was just another way to promote console sales, to "GIVE THE FANS WHAT THEY'VE BEEN ASKING FOR!!! YAAAAY!!!" Well, apparently not, it's only to give the fans (who already pay), what they've been asking for >_>;;; To me, netflix was a huge draw on some of that casual crowd that Blu-ray has been tempting other non-gamers. People like me, who already weren't willing to pay for live, now have to pay for it to access yet another feature you have to pay for... seriously? It doesn't seem like much of a "feature" at this point. From the sounds people were making, Microsoft walked slowly over searing coals, and broken glass to "pull some strings" with Netflix to get it's loyal fanbase what they deserve... rubbish... Another live scam if you ask me -_-; I won't pay for live. It's just not worth it to me. This netflix "service" doesn't exist to the likes of me :/ I think it's awesome for those of you with gold accounts, but man, so not the move I thought it was on they're part. I've been Bamboozled!!! |
How are they not giving the fans what they're asking for?
Are you upset you have to pay for features? I'm not sure if you realize this or not but Microsoft and Netflix are both businesses and want to make money.
I would completely agree with you *if* you only got the streaming, but you get everything Netflix offers you along with the streaming.
They are two different services that work together.
If you want the benefit of both services, you have to pay for both services. It's just as simple as that. I hate to keep going back to the MMO example, but it's about the best example out there.
Are WoW and your internet two completely different services? Yes.
Do they just happen to work together? Yes.
Would you expect to get to play WoW (or whatever MMO) because you pay for internet? Of course not.
Should you expect to get the full Netflix for free because you pay for Live? Of course not.
Should you expect to get the full Live service because you subscribe to Netflix? Of course not.
Do you get mad because you have a DVD player and you have to pay for those pesky DVD's to use the DVD player?
And yes, they could have done it so you can use Netflix with Silver but what benefit is that to Microsoft? (Most) people are not going to buy a 360 for the Netlifx service, (most) people are going to subscribe to Gold to get the Netflix service.
And I know Jordahn, I'm disagreeing with someone and disrespecting their opinion by doing so, whatever that means, but tough. Arguing with someone, flat out telling them they are wrong or listing point by point why their idea or genius notion makes no sense is not trolling. It's the internet, not everyone is going to agree with everything you say and people are in fact going to argue with you. It's just a basic fact of the internet. If you can't handle that, what are you doing on the internet?
