Forums - Gaming - I've come to a realization

This realization being that gaming isn't about fun or enjoying what you play but it's about something else.  It's about completing tasks as if they were another job and gaining a sense of accomplishment through collecting items I can't use outside the game or a cutscene that separates me from the game to progress through the plot.  I'm sorry, maybe I should play with toys if I want fun and enjoyment.

Hehe

Pixel Art can be fun.

With games like WoW and Achievements/Trophys I couldn't really tell you what gaming was about anymore.

You are foolishly misguided if you play games for fun. That is so 1990's. Get with the times.

Thankfully, I've figured that out before the 2010's.  I'm so outdated. :(

I play games to satisfy a need I can't satisfy irl. I can't shoot cops irl, so I play some GTA and pop them pigs. I guess I can do those things, but I don't want to get locked up.

You're silly; unless you're getting an achievement/trophy for killing those cops, you're not truly gaming.

I've figured out that you don't know about fun being subjective and different things being fun for different people. Some people find cutscenes and story fun, others find the sense of accomplishment from completing goals to be quite fun. People think that they are the bastion of fun, and everyone else just doesn't know how to have any, but really it's just that fun can be had in many different ways....and there's no wrong way.

...

Are you kidding? Games like gears of war and call of duty are so fun.

Good job at ruining a joke thread.

My definition of fun is the only definition of fun.  People who aren't having my variety of fun are just a group of <insert descending title here> .

Really? Ooooh *rolls eyes*
Well it really depends the game. I hardly can portrait me or anyone else looking for something on Mario Kart, Wii series or Bomberman other than multiplayer fun.
