Many say the Wii has lost the so called 'hardcore' gamers. However, I say that hardcore gamers have lost the Wii. It has gamers games with more on the way so I see no vaild reason why the Wii is not 'core'. Different yes, mainstream indeed, a new way of looking at things most certainly. And I say god bless it.

Is this because of COD: WAW Wii? I think COD WAW wii have legs OK? Just wait for 5 weeks till we can say anything. and about the core gamers? WHAT? Of course theres core gamers playing the Wii but not the shooter and sports kinds either...

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

In previous generations, a gamer could pretty much get by owning just one cosole. And it made the console wars and fanboyish debates lots of fun. This time, it just wouldn't be right not to own a Wii alongside your Xbox360 or PS3.

The Wii is so different in design, style, and theory that it's almost a necessary companion to an HD system. The Xbox360 and PS3 do not really allow breathing room for developers to experiment. Too costly to take a risk. The Wii, on the other hand, offers tons of room for developers to go willy-nilly in experimenting with genres, styles, and unusual styles. Look at Let's Tap, World of Goo, Deadly Creaturs, de Blob, etc. Plus, it's making on-rails arcade shooters relevant again. It offers a smoother FPS interface (if it'd just get used more), and allows for easy point-n-clicking to make classic PC-style Adventure games relevant again.

I only buy Nintendo-developed games. I've never found a non-first-party game that I liked, though I have tried many. Nintendo's recent games haven't had the same genius I found in earlier titles - Super Paper Mario, Wii Fit, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and Metroid Prime 3 being the four most recent Wii games I bought and all of them missing something intangible.
