well, i went in to get a new camera with my parents and while purchasing one i decided to take a look at some ps3 games, resistance 2, littlebigplanet, cod, good games i'll come back boxing day I thought no point paying retail when the holidays are just kicking in. went in to the wii section, not my style, saw a lot of wii fit though and i moved on to the 360 section. Tempting, last remnant, gears 2, halo 3. seen a big sign right above it buy a xbox 360 60gb holiday bundle and get 5 games free. i was like why not? seems worth it. store was about to close in an hour so i asked if they could by any chance give me the bundle bestbuy was offering with gears 2 for free rather than the 5 wasteful games( enchanted arms, dark sector, lego indie, kung fu and forgot the last one) 2 come in the box anyway so i guess 3 games for free. the man tells me they are not suppose to but if i buy a $60 warranty for 2 years he'll give it to me. i was like wtf?? cheap but why should i do anything? arent u suppose to give it to me even if i don't buy warranty? he goes ya but i suggest you do blah blah blah.............for the first time ever i was being hassled by an employee about not how good the product is but how mmany defaults and failures it has. the man went on for 45 freakn minutes insisting that i get the warranty.....i said I'LL BUY THE CONSOLE...nooo sir get the warranty wow my parents heard all that and they are like NO! ur good with ur ps3 i was like wtf..............sad thin was its my money and i cudnt even spend it -_- (btw no im not cheap i jus had enough on me to get the console without the warranty) i`m prob gna be picking one up next week anyway. welll an hr of my life gne to an employeee who wudnt shutup about how many faults the damn 360 has. at the end guess what he says...btw gears 2 awesome u shud ply it....i was like O.O watevaaa!!!

Best Buy encourages us to review the protection plans with the customers and recommend it, but your associate was borderline harassing. I always bring it up and go over its coverage, but I always respect the customer.

Btw, I hear that many times in Canada, Best Buys and Futureshops are in the same shopping center. Is that true?

Futureshop employees get commission for selling service plans, which is why they might try to harass you into buying it.

Are you sure? We (Best Buy employees) don't get commission. They're one company.

^ Positive. I worked at Best Buy in the past and knew people who transferred over to Future Shop and they do make commission. While they are one company, Best Buy's gimmick is basically that the employees aren't on commission. The same isn't true of Future Shop. For Best Buy in particular, bonuses are paid to supervisors and managers based on the performance of their staff. That means that a BB sup who has "good numbers" in their dept will see a bonus on their paycheck. Since the employees making the sales at BB don't see any performance-related bonuses, and only recieve their standard wage, they aren't on commision while the sups/managers recieve a form of commission.
