Forums - Microsoft - What really might hurt Microsoft going forward

Microsoft's got a lot of problems with their games division right now. Slowing sales, large 360 recall, and huge competition from the Wii. But the one problem Microsoft will end up having to deal with is.....

THEY HAVE NO PR!!!!

Ask yourself. What are the PR for Microsoft's game division now that Peter Moore is gone? Shane Kim....maybe. Now, let's take a look at the PR from the other companies...

Nintendo: Satoru Iwata, Reggie, Shigeru Miyamoto, I don't even think it needs any explaining.

Sony: Phil Harrison, Jack Tretton, and Kaz Hirai (they have their moments).

I just wonder if Microsoft can get any decent PR before they become a faceless corporation in the games industry. It's getting kind of ridiculous. Seeing Bill Gates comment on an industry he barely understands gets more ridiculous with every quote.

So, what should Microsoft do about this little conundrum?

Hire Tony Little or Ron Popeil.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Or Cheech and Chong. Hey, wasn't Cheech working on That 70s Show? Or was that Chong?

LOL.....well we really dont have a PR

Shane Kims doesnt know anything...and what happend to J.Allard, Robbie Bach?? I know Ed Fries left and Shane Kim to take over....

Considering that microsoft isnt going to pull a Dreamcast like Sega did....Microsoft has the money to keep the Xbox division alive...when the day comes and Microsoft announces they give up (likely never) then thats when that day comes..until then you can see they are doing everything they can to make the Xbox 360 reliable as possible...And about PR...it is weird how when Peter Moore left Sega after Dreamcast failed...is it possible that Peter Moore left the Xbox 360 will fail...Who knows..anything is possible!!! Microsoft could announce tomorrow that they are done...who knows..but they arent...O_O

First, someone will replace Peter Moore, obviously. A new face will emerge because one has to.

But more improtantly, this is the sort of thing that only a few people worry about -- specifically, people like us, who comb the internet on a daily basis looking for news about the consoles. Often for hours at a time. The number of people who care about such things are fairly small.

I agree and there're no problems for now since the games this fall/winter speak for themselves. Also we still have Major Nelson and others have said that there will be someone to replace Peter Moore (although I admit I liked the guy and I feel he got screwed but at least he's at a job with less headaches now).

Where is he at??

What happend to him?? Was he at E3 2007?

He left before Xbox 360 launched..Bought Bungie and Rare...and left Microsoft in January 2004 and works for Sony Online Entertainment....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Fries

And what he took a 2 year break from Microsoft??

Is he doing a good job after Ed Fries left??

Back then the big three for the Xbox was Robbie Bach, J Allard, and Ed Fries...and now that Ed Fries left Shane Kim feeled in and so then Peter Moore stepped in...Rest in Peace Peter Moore you were so good to Xbox 360
