@Lafiel "if you look back at the infamous "boomerang-controller" can you say this design didn't seem like a logical step if you wanted to combine motion sensors and traditional controller layout?"

How wasnt it logical, the boomerang would of been fine with motion sensor.

uhmm.. maybe I messed up the sentence a bit, but what i wanted to say is, that the boomerang-controller seems like a design made for motion controls + regular games, so in other words I think that particular design is quite a big hint the motion sensor was planned for the PS3 controller back when the PS3 was announced, way before Nintendo announced their controlling device

It could of been and i could be wrong, but i dont think the controler was made for motion sensor,i THINK the boomerang was made to be an updated PS Controller and not be so small,i think it would of been great but people put it down before even using it.

how is the 360 controller intuitive at all? it stole the button layout from the dualshock. It tried some shitty black and white button, then switched to L1/L2 just like Sony.

Sure it feels better in your hands, but its not intuitive.

Just like how Sony stole the dual analog stick from Nintendo? Just like how they stole motion sensor from them?

And better controls = better gameplay PEROID!

nintendo never had dual analog sticks so no sony did not steal that from anyone, nor did they steal motion sensor from them. the ps1 had a motion sensor controller back in the day that acts just like the six-axis.

you /fail

Ok they had analog stick, and Sony didnt even want Motion sensor till Nintendo mentioned it in E3,Then a few months later Sony rushed Motion sensor in,and its not even being used today in games...

Also MS had motion sensor before them all

and saying you/fail servers no purpose and its against the rules, just to let you know.

saying you /fail is a conclusion of what i had written before hand. so there is a purpose

No,its against the rules,I can say you /fail to prove me wrong, but i dont.

Which you did not do.

and wheres the stuff that you bolded? what i posted was more pretty obvious but here you go to fill you in

oh there it is...but wait its after sony introduced the dual shock...shucks

well there you go. i gave you pointless proof. you better post your links n stuff or your a damn prick

edit: forgot...you /fail

I said i was wrong about DUAL analog, and Nintendo was the FIRST game company to include motion sensor with the launch system, not one that you have to buy additionally  (or third party)or one that dosent come with the launch controler, and on top of that the N64 had the Analog stick,But i guess Sony added the Analog stick's Before the N64 was released?

I know you are a PS fan but now you resort to personal attacks, cmon you gotta be kidding, this is about consoles are you attack me a as a person for having a different view than you,Now can you have fun playing R2 with an Atari 2600 controler?

http://www.atariage.com/2600/systems/sys_Atari2600.jpg

itallic: lol ok im sorry but i gotta point it out. ps3 came with six-axis 11/11/2006 wii had its things 11/19/2006, and yes n64 had the analog stick...but not the innovative dual analog stick. heck you can argue that atari had the first analog stick.

the rest: never personally attacked you just showing your op was completely wrong and off topic, except the ending of it. and to answer your question...i could have fun playing r2 with that controller because i can still run around and shoot.

thanks for using indications you are stating opinions, like I do , now just drop the massive and purposeless quoting (this critic isn't only ment for you, but for .. uhm.. about 90% of the regular posters here *sigh*) and I think we can get along

indeed it's a shame there was such an uproar against the "boomerang" and another shame, that Sony actually bowed under the pressure

The official release date for the Sony PS3 is November 17, 2006.

The Wii was launched November 19th,2 days after the PS3.

Ill give PS the dual analog thats the best thing that happened to 3D Gaming IMO,Atari had an Joystick,Analog is more sensative

If you can have fun playing R2 with 1 joystick and 1 button, then more power to you

And indeed boomerang looked good,i wouldnt mind if they released it as a seperate controler.

@Lafiel i always share my opinion,if i state facts its either well known or i post links,I respect you.

Oh my beloved GT what the hell are you doing with Dblock.

Anyway the GT staff has some X360 fanboys and some PS3 fanboys but the majority are X360 fanboys.  Their is only 1 person of the staff (6 in total) that I know who is not a fanboy and that is Brandon the guy who do the dubs with the reviews.

Anyway the GT staff had an funny fanboy fight at Invisible Walls where they even called that the Wii is not a console.

Check it:!

Starts at 20.36 NPD sales report    (It will load long but their opinion about MK vs DC and Left4Dead is very interesting aswell).

his fanboy reasoning for the controller on 360 being better is simply preference, i use my ps3 controller all the time and works perfectly for me

gt r talking garbage, theres nothing wrong with the ps3 controller it works perfectly fine and better than 360 controller imo

This.

Also @gebx it could also be that you are completely wrong and that playstation games are slightly better than xbox 360 games.

See what i did there ?

it's all down to personal opinion.

Check out my game about moles ^

The 360 controller and Ps3 controller are practically identical antiquated pieces of junk which as far as FPS games are concerned are unusable when compared to using a Mouse - FPS on consoles are practically unplayable.
Aside from that the X360 controller has improved ergonomics but nothing significant they have exactly the same dual analogue - 4 button and d pad with dual triggers - the different color is no advantage and overall they both suck.
I would say the motion sensing on the DualShock3 or Sixaxis as an significant advantage but it's unspported by almost all games (only around 1/4 driving games support it , almost no suport in FPS !) so it does not really count - it has absolutley no operating system support at all.

- The Wii mote on the other hand blow them both out of the water - it gives IR sensing and motion , vibration and auditory feedback and provides a mouse like ability to point and select on screen in a highly intuituve way.

PS3 number 1 fan

in the latest invisible wall, shane(the person that runs the GT site)said PS3 had more good games in 08 and it's just a matter price drop till PS3 does much better,,he said 360 had only one big game in 08.(just watch the invisible wall 33 from the 19th min)

I would disagree with you on the wiimote been the best controller.

Which I suppose only reinforces the argument that it is down to personal choice when liking or disliking one over the other.

Erm....Controllers are best for Fast FPS games,Mouses are best for Realistic FPS games, since mouse have far more percesion and require you to pick them up and move them back over.
