Will. Halo 3 is the only 360 game that everybody seems to like, even fanboys for other systems, and accomplishing that is a pretty hard and rare thing to do with a game.

It may not happen this year, but in lifetime sales Galaxy will out do Halo 3 pretty easily. It just seems like less of a big deal Galaxy isn't necessary for the Wii's survival like those two games are for the 360's.

I'm on the fence with this one.
I'm not worried about eating crow or being far off in my predictions, but with all the rumblings about the "Falcon" supposedly coming out near Halo's launch, I feel that those two elements combined would vault 360 beyond Wii for sure.
Too many diehards know how much game play on their 360's will result in high probability for RROD due to Halo. If a new and improved SKU is out, I'm certain people will be trading in their old systems in for an upgrade.
And of course there is the Halo edition box. So with all the variables possibly floating out there, this prediction is really a tough call.
Halo on it's own? I don't see it pushing out --that-- many consoles, but it will play a factor this holiday for moving hardware.
Halo + Falcon = Will (+100)
Halo = Won't (-45k)
Sqrl, only bother to count my Halo on its own prediction.

I dis agree the Price of the 360 is not the problem ...It is a good price for the machine...If it worked without all the problems I have heard about it . It is not hard to justify a 299-399 game console purchase with the extra things you can do with it (with add ons) itv is a good machine for the price. The PS3 is a bit more but the Value is higher there than even the 360. The big thing is RELIABILITY MicroSoft needs to get rid of these trobled machines quick , and make a noticable redesign that does not have all of the current issues. the Elite would have been a Great time to adress those problems but from what I hear the Elite has the same Problems.
Halo fans Have the 360 already for the most part...only if Halo is good enough to get new fans will we see an increase in sales. But at the end of the day this is a Shooter a die hard shooter fans rather wait for the computer version
Lastly People are talking about previous X-box owners waiting for a "reason" to get the 360. I really do not think that many people are still waiting since thier X-box support really has been nothing for over a year on X-box. this waiting senario makes sense only when talking about the PS3 since there have been really great games coming on the PS2 even after the PS3 came out. So sony fans have been still playing new games on a sony platform and can afford to wait. It will be intresting but with 2 holiday seasons under its belt I really dont see the 3rd being a bigger season than the second Hell if M$ the X-box only lasted 4 years the 360 could be halfway to dead.
will microsoft merely adding another heatsink to the 360 be enough for the reliability issues? I'm not yet convinced that this will be the end of their problems. It might take another heatsink and using the 65nm chips for the reliability thing to go away.
The issue will disappear before too long. The heat sinks will fix most of their problems, and the number of non-sales (broken systems returned to stores rather than shipped in to MS) is likely more than high enough to ensure they'll have enough refurbished units that will stay fixed.

Here is my take on it. The release of Halo will push them slightly, but it will not be because of Halo. In my case I am waiting to buy a Xbox 360 when the chips are made with 65nm tech. That will happen right about the same time Halo 3 comes out, and the price might drop again.
Reason I am waiting. Over heating problem will be fixed and power brick might be relocated internal.
I own a Wii/PC. Possibly future Xbox.
I think some people don't know that Halo 3 is coming out on the same 3 days across all 3 regions.
September 25 in NA
September 26 in Europe
September 27 in Japan
I expect the 360 to beat the Wii September and October in North America.
Also there isn't going to be another price drop before Halo 3, there's not gonna be 2 price drops in 2 months, that's ridiculous.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!
Should be up to date to this point.
If you don't see your name on the list please repost and clarify your prediction, also I added a few people to the "needs clarification" list below the table. I may not have caught everyone so please double check my work and make sure your prediction is listed properly.
PS - Just as a heads up to folks, it can be tedious to do the highlighting on the table so I am only updating it one or two times a day. So if your prediction is not added immediatly don't worry I will get to it. However, if I miss it for more than 24 hours then you can either repost it or send me a private message.
| scorptile said: i wanted to say the reason for the -500k is that pretty much all the halo fanboys already has their 360's so system wise teh 360 wont sell over 400k the week of halo3 if that even |
So uhhh. Let me get this straight. Right now the Wii is outselling the 360 by ~200k every week. So you expect, during Halo 3's release, that the Wii will get a boost, instead of the 360??
