Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft and Square Enix in love?

Hey guys,

As we have seen, Square Enix is showing much love for the Xbox360. Final Fantasy is coming, Last Remnant seems to be a good game (38/40 Famitsu), Infinite Undiscovery sold well and Star Ocean is coming early next year. But that is not it so far. They are looking for Xbox360 developers right now and they are developing an Xbox360 exclusive game. (I just read it somewhere, could somebody confirm it?)

Square is building a new studio in the US and they keep mentioning how badly they want to succeed in the western market. A success especially in US and in Europe is just possible with the Xbox360. MS worked really hard to cooperate with Square and now it might be paying off. I don't think there will be any Square games that are not coming to the Xbox360.

Just a crazy thought: What would happen if MS buys Square Enix? A success in Japan would be sure.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Hell will freeze over. Pigs will fly. Trestres will just give up on complaining about S-E. The world will end on 21/12/2012.

Will never happen though. for one) The money MS would pay to buy them, S-E could just as easily make that money by carrying on producing DS and PSP games. Two) The money MS would pay to buy them, would be a hell of alot more than paying for the rights to have the games they want on their console.

At most I can see the 360 getting Versus.

Microsoft and Square Enix are not in love, it's purely superficial XD XD

Isn't the world gonna end that day reguardless?

by the way I've got to knoe what theat pic is in yur sig.

Is that a hot dog or a shoe?

It's been bugging me for months.
it's really cool.

hi.

yeah, money makes love ;)

360 is the more promising Console theese days -> more money.

and if MS would be successful in japan too -> even more money.

and when MS sponsors some of square´s projects -> money can be saved.

square noticed the big potencial of the 360, and the result is Micro-square... =/

but i dont think that MS buys SE, just some games from them ;)

Final Fantasy VS XIII and Crystal Chronicles.

But yeah, the two do seem to be eying each other in Math class.

i doubt even microsoft has enough money to buy SE, maybe a contract.

there's always bribery.

but, I don't think Microsoft has built up enough rep with the Yakuza yet.

If MS doesn't have the money then who does?
