With The NXE looking great is Sony playing catch up again or does it offer better features.

To answer your question yes it does look old.
MS have led the way again imo.
Oh man I'd almost forgotten about Home haha. That's still coming right. In features it tops Avatars and Miis but man just makes ya feel like a WoW player haha.

In what way (old and leading the way)?
NXE avatars look like a cheap ripoff of Mii's, Home has more features then you can imagine.
NXE is a disaster compared to home, also I hate it when people comment without experiencing both.
(oh yes Ive been on both NXE, and Home..)
Home is much more than just avatars and new dashboard tho, it will be fully intergrated into PSN. Also Trophies = Free rewards.

So home goes into an open beta at the end of the year?
How exactly is a MMO type environment going to work out if users don't have either a standard keyboard or a standard microphone to communicate?
I will check it out, but im not holding my breath for anything spectacular.
