What does that article prove? They denied something they'd announce a week later at E3? The only thing I'd say Sony doesn't do enough of is say: "no comment." |
Well it proves my point. This is most certainly not a problem relegated to a small division, but is a question of the companies ethics as a whole. How could it not prove my point unless you are of the opinion that Sony has a right to lie to the public, and we should trust them regardless of that fact. I will never blindly trust anything that Sony says. I will probably be a better consumer for that alone.
I personally have never been of the opinion that companies have a god given duty to lie to the public. I do not accept it as a standard business practice either. I have worked for companies that have zero tolerance for dishonesty. So I know for a fact there are ethical companies.
The fact remains that if a company lies as a habit you should never take anything that company says as a fact. To do otherwise is foolish. I am not saying you should not do business with them, or even buy their products that is a judgment call. You should always be aware however of the track record. Why get fleeced when you do not need to be.
