^What are you studying in history? My college scared me off with American history, but they changed the course to the Russian revolution!

Man, I was pissed. But I didn't want to change my subjects anymore.

American history.... origins of the civil war, which I think is actually quite interesting. I am also studying British political history around the time of Pitt and Peel, what really annoys me is that we have skirted around the Napoleonic Wars, which I would really like to study

Wait they actually tell you the origins of the Civil War?

In the US they basically shout slavery and then spend 3 weeks about how awesome Abe Lincoln was... and how brilliant grant was for coming up with the strategy "We have more men... so lets wear them out."

Vs the other two generals plans of.... "Lets train a bunch of troops.  But not deploy them."

Well, we wouldn't have any bias, as we weren't directly involved.

But, man, you should hear our version of the British-American war.

Which one?  The "revolutionary" one?

I kinda wonder what would of happened had you guys won that.  1776 for the SNES has a novel ending when you win as the british.

Black people would of been a lot better off that's for sure.  Since the british abolished slavery in the colonies during the revolutionary was as an attempt to get more troops.  Which is probably where Lincoln got the idea in the Civil War.

these questions were easily answered...what about them should have made my brain hurt?

Yeah, that's it, the American Revolution. I couldn't remember the name of it, I kept thinking of things like "Industrilisation", "Globalissation", "Evolution"... well, I've got it now.

Hehe... SNES.

If the Brits would have won (my predictions):

- Alot more people would have socialised healthcare by now.
- America (probably) wouldn't be as conservative.
- The world wars would've been shorter.
- The UK wouldn't have as denser population.
- The EU would look funny on a map.
- There would have been no need for the plans to invade Canada.

(Those are in jest, btw, well, most are... guess which ones).

It was the title of the BBC article. If you have beef, take it out on them.

I'd guess the last two would be... perhaps last three.

I mean... if England had the US, they probably wouldn't want anything to do with the EU.

In the UK.... but it is mostly the North didn't like slavery, the south did, and that happened quite a lot... it basically seems inevitable. What I do find funny about American history is that we did have a short look at the founding of America, and by that point my school had been around 200 years, that's right, my school is older than America!!!! (not the buildings)

If you want to see what happened without the revolution, buy Empire Total War when it comes out in Feb. I have already planned how I am going to deal with the America situation (every soldier in the world!) but then again, you will have to win the 7 years war first.

I'll answer yes to all of them, with certain view points on question 1.

a: It depends who you kill.
b: It depends who benefits.

For example, you would kill a 50 politicians to save a kid, but you wouldn't kill a beetle to save 50 politicians.

What if those 50 politicians recognised Cornwall being a seperate state from England?

Now that's just crazy talk. There haven't been that many sensible politicians ever, all added together since the begining of, of, well, politics.

Well, it was the last two. I don't think the population density would be as high because more UK citizens would have moved to America generations ago. We currently have a higher population density than China (I think).

Yup. And as all British politicians are thieving lying bastards who are only doing it so they can bone their ASSistants and claim 100s of thousands of pounds in dodgy expenses, you may struggle. ;)
