Forums - Nintendo - Favorite Wii FPS control scheme

I have played Red Steel, Far Cry, RE:4, and Medal of Honor Vanguard, and the best controls goes to MoH:V(Yeah.. I know is sounds weird but the cotrols are done right). Looking foward Metroid Prome 3 and Umbrella Chronicles!

Did you know that Umbrella Chronicle is a Light Gun game and you don't control the character ?

Definitely, RE4 control scheme. I bought the Zapper like peripheral from Gamestop and it's the best shooter game I've played so far. I am looking forward to Metroid. Controls should be way better for that game.

For what it's worth, I thought Call of Duty 3 had much better handling than Red Steel. Their control schemes are pretty much the same, though.

In games where strafing (side-stepping) is rare, I wouldn't mind having the stick controlling turning left/right and moving forward back but tilting the nunchuk left or right handling the strafes (with the remote doing aiming, possibly with a bounding box, though this might be redundant with the stick's turning controls.

I think they should all take exemple of Metroid's expert control, a little move on one side and the screen move with it, unlike a big move before the screen start moving with less accuracy on the turning speed.

I'm a big fan of the RE:4 control scheme. It felt a little slow at first, but once I learned about the 180 turn I never had a second thought about how great the controls were.

I think the controls in Metroid will rival those of a PC. It will be loads more fun anyways. I haven't played played like the last 3 console Metroids so I'm not sure if I'll be into it again but I have a feeling the Wiimote will wet my appetite again.

Call of Duty 3's controls were quite solid. I'd say they were the best so far on Wii.

Wait until Metroid Prime 3 comes out... on advanced it's BETTER than PC Mouse / Keyboard Combo.

There, I said it...
