The reason I ask is because people often debate about which game has the best graphics when that may be less of an achievment than people give credit for. Gears of War 2 & Uncharted has beautiful graphics  but they are more linear than games like Fable 2 or GTA IV.  I'm not sure what the biggest technical achievement in gaming has or is  what are your opinions  , how much further could our consoles be pushed ?.

Let's not forget games like Conduit which apears to be an achievment of some sort.

Crysis and Crysis Warhead, duh.

GTAIV's gotta be in with a shout for technical achievement.

It's just a shame that it was all a bit wasted on the game in the end.

how about LBP for its physics work?
Wipeout HD for showing people how to make the ps3 look good?

Of course technical achievements don't always make up for atrocious gameplay...
