The Xbox360 has a chatpad and the ps3 will have a chatpad very soon, this whole "there aren't enough buttons" argument kind of gose out the window.So what's the problem,and when will the flood of mmo's hit the consoles?

The Xbox 360 has two already(Final Fantasy XI and Phantasy Star Universe) and is expecting 4 more in the next decade(Huxley, Champions Online, Age of Conan, APB). Sony has none yet, but is expecting 2(The Agency and DC Universe Online), plus there were some on PS2 that can be played on PS3 through backwards compatibility. Nothing on the Nintendo side yet.

That's not an MMO. At most they may be able to get 8-12 people playing at the same time. That's called multiplayer. MMOs have hundreds on the same server.

No it's cool. People tend to think that because of the art style and nature of hunts, quests and looting.

The issue with console MMOs is the fact they require near-mandatory HDD space on consoles, and a little bit different specs than what typical consoles offer. So it's an entirely different ball game (most of the time) versus what PCs are capable of - and what MMOs have revolved around from, since Day-1.

We do have Huxley (a thinly veiled MMO), APB, Age of Connan and Champions Online coming for the X360, and as stated the 2 PS3 MMOs. MMOs aren't cheap to build, and require a budget & team that are larger than standard projects...So that is why you don't seen many.
