I'm planning to buy an HDTV today, I have a 360, the 20GB and it didn't come with any HDMI cables.

I've seen the prices for the xbox ones, seems overpriced.

Do you guys know or could recommend me any other brands that are cheaper but maintain the same quality and will work on my 360 perfectly? Recommending me cables from local stores (wal-mart, radioshack, ect) would be helpful. Thanks

Bah, I can't remember the name of the site but you can get pretty long ones for under $10. DO NOT but from Wal-Mart, Best Buy, or any store like that.

Wait until someone eventually sees this topic that knows the name of the cheap places to get the cables.

Just so you know, there typically is no performance difference between brands of cables you can buy.

When going

When going <10 feet (analog or digital) it really doesn't matter what you buy unless it is cut to pieces.

Now, when you go longer than that, the Gauge starts to become important due to resistance. Typically more so with an analog signal. You want nice thick wires, so the lower the gauge numbers the better.

With digital this isn't quite as critical, but it is still important. With a digital signal, you won't notice any signal strength loss until it really starts to drop out on you. (you get these big blocks and stuff, or just a blank screen). There are two ways to fix this. Lower gauge wire, or a repeater inserted in your connections.

With HDMI you should be able to get at least 30ft without a repeater. I think you can do 50ft with HDMI 1.2, but only 30 with HDMI 1.3, but I'm not sure since the documentation on HDMI is not very clear.
