the xbox360 only has good value to compete with the ps3.
just wait till they get a monopoly or work sony out of the gaming bussiness, then you will see the real microsoft.

They did almost the exact same thing to Netscape, giving internet explorer away for free to complety dominate netscape(as well as various other dirty tactics) cuz they cannot make a superior product.


Now they sell the 360 for so cheap that sony can only compete by selling at a loss.

This is just 1 example, the tip of the iceberg so to speak.

Sure, now that the 360 is dirt cheap its forcing sony to lower its prices and pump out AAA Title on a monthly basis so its pretty sweet.

But once MS has a big enough marketshare we will be screwed, all of us.

They didn't get cocky. They just got dumped by a lot of their fans that preferred a console that had one "great" game instead of Great games in all genres like the PS2. Well going on four years later, the 360 has managed to come up with two "great" games. So, if current trends continue, in the next gen Microsoft will have a console with three "great" games, but the video game market will truely be cheated out of all of the Great games in every genre that it used to have which were on Playstation consoles.

That's the crap people need to stop posting. It's funny how these people assume any company wants to monopolize the industry when they aren't the company's executives. The execs make the decisions of whom to buy out. So to emphasize my point, how many people here think Paul_Warren is a Microsoft exec?

This thread is silly. Microsoft is a business — of course their goal is to make a profit. They are doing that by providing an attractive price-point with all the games that their userbase wants.

If you're going to be angry that they are beating Sony, you really should direct your ire towards Sony, themselves. They came into this generation with the momentum of 130 million consoles and blew it. They have no one to blame but themselves.

I can't see Microsoft simply taking out Nintendo given Nintendo's strong 1st party lineup. Microsoft aren't even competing in the handheld market which has kept Nintendo profitable for so long

To an extent i agree, but if there having "So Much Issues" Making games for the HD Consoles why not place some of the games that are going portable to the PlayStation 2 or PSN?

Truth be told, i think in my personal opinion, Square Enix isnt the epic gaming company we once new. they've changed alot since 2006.

I still think Sony's mistake in terms of the GAMING market was Blu-Ray. Now overall for their business, that may yet pay off. (Maybe. But HD-streaming Netflix boxes, for example, are selling like hotcakes. I still think the Blu-Ray format won't an out before on demand systems take over - we'll see.)

But in terms of just gaming, they really have one game that really uses the Blu-Ray fully - MGS4. Or am I missing some? Yes, they might have to put a game or two on 2 discs, but stopping for a minute or two once or twice to swap discs midway through a 20+ hour game is really no different than installing ahead of time.

Because they waited a year to get Blu-Ray ready and they had trouble keeping up with Blu-Ray parts at the beginning, not to mention the added expense, they got behind early. And they haven't been able to dig out yet. PS3 is the best hardware there is, but at what cost? It seemed like a good idea at the time, but I think history will write that it was a failed gamble on their part.
