Asked an scan of Lair review in the EGM magazine:

The EGM scores are apparently fake. The Lair review is in the September issue not the August one. Besides, the August Issue is in retail at Augusy 7th, subscribers get in a week earlier. So he couldn't get it now, besides, its sunday...

Probably some 360 fan that wants sony games to look like "sh#t", or it could be real...    I find it hard to believe the preview got a 9/10and the full game got an 5.5 average..

Yeah but then why would they give Blue Dragon a low score?

A 7 isnt considered a low score, maybe the kid didnt like the demo. I cant wait till ign reviews the game, I seriously doubt this game can be anything lower than a 7, but again it could be real this is just speculation

I though Blu dragon got an 6.5 (can be fake to I don't know ).

ckmlb already confirmed that this is from a reliable source, that posts these scores every month.

It's not fake. If it was from some "360 fanboy" like you alledge, I'm sure the scores would be much more skewed in the 360's favor, and I doubt a PS2 game would have gotten game of the month.

And finally, Play Magazine gives crappy games high scores often...ignore what they say.

I don't think it was a 360 or a Wii fan, and I don't think this is fake. If it was a 360 or a Wii fan why did Strikers get average (7.5) and Blue Dragon bad (6.5) reviews? Also, why did a PS2 game, Persona 3, win game of the month with very positive reviews? If someone was making this up, they would have dropped all Sony scores. I think we are just looking at EGM disliking the game...

Are there no subscribers to EGM on this forum who have recieved this issue?

add me

I am a subscriber but I don't have the issue yet.

Also, check the scale of EGM reviews. 7.5 is not average and 6.5 is not bad.

Still scores for both games are disappointing.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

A shame about Blue Dragon, but with the considerable lack of good rpgs for 360 right now, it might sell well anyway.

I get it, I just don't read it and generally throw it away (got a subscription for free with something) . >_>

I haven't checked my mail in a few days so I suppose later today when I go back out towards the mailboxes I can see if I got it.

-edit-
And reading how hard EGM is on games, I think I might have finally found a set of reviewers I like. I hate all these reviewers that gives random high scores for no reason at all.

Though I still don't get how NCAA got a 9.0.  I like NCAA games and have fun with the games, but it still wasn't that great.  It was buggy, I hate not being able to skip the cinemats and the auto subs, missing some features the last ones had, and it was buggy.
