@ kowenicki - I don't even have a degree mate, yet I know more about business, marketing, producing films and finance then my friends who are qualified. So believe me, I know what you mean mate!

In business; it is all about doing your own research, educating yourself, and unlike university, the education never ends. Everyday you are working on something new and learning something new.

e.g. When working on a film, you have to research what ever topic you will be covering, research the market you are targeting, write and help design and produce the script, work out budgets, work out how to manage the budget, work out how to organise and manage the staff, go through lots of legal jargon and policies and the work seems to never end :S So much to learn and yet such little time :s yet somehow, I find myself posting on VGChartz :S not good!

So true. Most people with their qualifications end up in call centers. Partially due to a lack of decent jobs being available but also to do with the fact that so many people have them yet it is not justified how they got them!

I am good friends with someone who manages a popular bar here. Most the students are drug addicts, alcoholics and morals and ethics are the last of their concerns. They copy each others work and manage to scrape through.

Those who do work hard have the problem of then competing with these other idiots, meaning now they need to go get a masters and by then, someone would have taken their job through the gift of the gab.

Also read an article in the paper, where universities and examiners are being lenient since less people were doing well. For the sake of the country and its universities losing their reputation, students were able to pass their exams when they shouldn't have.

Long hours hey? lol What hours do you do? I normally start around 8/9am and work through to around 10/11pm normally. However, you get those odd days when shit really needs to get done and you end up at work until 8/9pm the next day! Even had an occasion where I was at work 3 days on the trot without having gone home. Sad but true :s
