Forums - Sony - is lbp still worth buying?

You'd have to say that any game with an average review score of 95% is worth getting, if you have a PS3 it should be in your collection.
However there's merit to holding off on getting it until later as it gives the online community time to settle and develop more levels for you to play once you finish the offline component.

Never argue with idiots
They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience

It is within the top 15th best reviewed games in the world, do you need more incentive?

Fallout 3 looks worst on PS3!!

LBP is a fun game

Well, my friend from work brought it over and showed it to me.. and if that is the "worst" I will take it gladly...

LBP is a must buy if you are in to that type of game...

I'm currently playing Valkyria Chronicles myself. I'll get to fallout 3 and LBP later.

If perferring the PS3 over the 360 makes me a fanboy.. I guess I am guilty..

List of 360 Games I would like to have: Alan Wake

List of PS3 Games I would like to have: LBP, FFXIII(if it ever comes), R2(maybe)

List of Wii Games I would like to have: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (It's not an exclusive but it would be awesome)

If you want to own one of the most fun, fresh and new games for years then yes.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Right now there is a huge amount of good games for the PS3. of all of them i would say LBP and fallout 3 are the two essential. Fallout 3 may be worth holding off on though as the devs have said that trophies will be coming to the game soon.

 assumption is the mother of all f**k ups

LBP is probably one of the few games that can justify its price fully. It is truly endless.....

PSN ID: T_Gears

End of 2009 ltd sales:

Wii = 67-68m

X360 = 38-39m

PS3 = 34-35m

Prediction: The PS3 will surpass the 360 on weekly sales after it drops to $299 on all regular weeks (no big releases).

Its still a great game even if you play single player.

*Al Bundy's My Hero*

*Al Bundy For President*

Waiting On GT7!!!

 PSN ID: Acidfacekiller

single player is good
local multiplayer is great
levels have been removed for adult only content or copyright infringement. At least the first will prevent tools with a PSeye from imitating goatse

It's not that big a deal, buy it

I bought both fallout3 and LBP, i can say that those two games will keep u for a long time. Both are brilliant. As for fallout3 being worst on PS3, it is stupid to say that. PS3 has better textures than x360 (do some research and u'll see what i am talking about).

Final note, buy LBP now, then buy fallout3

ya, i was planning to pick it up this week but after hearing that there was still lag problems and that mods were taking down a bunch of levels based on other games do you think its still worth the $60 or should i save it and buy another game instead?

Both of these complaints are being overstated.

On lag - LBP doesn't use dedicated servers in the same manner as other online games, rather it uses match-making servers to arrange up to four-player, with one of those players being designated a host. With user-hosting, there are going to be lag problems with a full four-player game if the designated host winds up being the person on a high latency connection or on a hyperactive, overloaded network. The lag is completely hit or miss, but this is just not a rectifiable issue with user-hosting. If you anon join a game with heavy lag, just leave and try again, maybe you'll hit a better host the second time around. Simply stated, if you're getting lag it's not Sony's fault or Mm's fault or LBP's fault, it is either YOUR fault or it is the fault of one of the other three people in the game.

On moderation - Fewer than .5% (notice that's point-five, as in less than half of one percent) of the published levels thus far have been moderated, and the vast majority of them were taken down due to lewd/offensive content -- we're talking about a couple hundred levels out of thousands upon thousands. There have been isolated reports of other levels removed for copyright infringement, including infringement of Sony's own material, which has lead to some confustion over what constitutes 'fair use,' such as tribute levels or homages to other games, but this is mostly isolated. It's a case of a handful of vocal people yelling very loudly from the rooftops. What is not being noted is that unlike other games, levels that are moderated down can still be played offline, and you can always recreate the level with the questionable content removed and republish. At least offenders get a second chance, or third, or fourth, and aren't immediately banned for life, as you might find on other online services/games. As for the copyright infringement issue, there are still plenty of tribute levels out there; I played some of them last night, in fact. This stink is way overblown.
