I popped into an online multiplayer game last week with three other people I didn't know and I didn't have a single issue with lag. The other players being MORONS that couldn't negotiate the 2-player bits was a wee bit of a problem, but no lag!

I find it astounding that a game that is primarily based around its online features doesn't have enough infrastructure to support it. This is with mediocre sales too, imagine how bad it would be if it really was HUGE as everyone said it would be.

OP: That's too bad about the lag. I havent gotten the game yet. If I did I wouldn't have anyone to play with though... (online that is. Maybe I could on the couch)

I got the game 3 days ago, Ive probably been playing over 20 hours now XD (WARNING LBP CAUSES ADDICTION XD).

About the lag, well my net is pretty well ive seen alot of ppl say LAG LAG LAG but tbh i really dont experience it :/ ( I got 100MB/S, Well my dad says so im not really smart to know anything lol )

And the dl times i mean ive seen alot ppl complaining that downloading stuff from ps store takes alot of time well it doesnt really for me :/ i got SW TFU that was 1.2 GB demo like under 8 mins :/.

There are some times where u cant connect to your game but thats becuse Sony is removing some copyrighted thingies.. i think.

With that said ITS NO REASON NOT TO GET THE GAME. ITS FUN LIKE H3LL :D. (If u dont have MGS4 Shoot ur self, If u dont have LBP your gonna end up sad XD).

THIS IS JUST MY OPINION so please dont try to make me sad becuse im happy atm

^^the game has a quick game option that matches you up with ramdom players so you dont need to have psn freinds to play with others.

If the game needs 100MB/s then you have been of very much help to my statement that the has HUGE lag, you see, broadband average around 512kbps and are saying you have 100,000 kbps, that internet subcription could cost around UD$800.00 per month, so if that is what is needed to play LBP smoothly the game will flop sooooooo haaaard. 

I have been really sorprise be this online issue after sony talking so much about the community aspect of the game, i spectect the online to be flawless. Some are saying it will be resolved but with a game that depends on user created content like never before( the history levels last 6-7 hours) there is no excuse for this.

Ill quote a guy from the PS underground that gave the best reason to be angry about this issues:

" Hard to jusitfy spending $60 for a game you may enjoy a mere 10% on the time"

But this isnt the only game i hear ppl saying lag, but o well then i have only 1 statement= SUXS FOR YALL XD im happy. Btw i said i got 100m/s and it works good for me. I didnt say IT NEEDED that xD

the problem is the fact that users have only 512k internet speeds. That is to slow for today's internet. I have a 20mbps which is perfect. If everyone had at least 7mbps things would be great. Hopefully with the digital switch everyone who has a 512k connection is forced to upgrade or cities start installing wan connections.

The lag and content moderation issues are being way overblown, IMHO. As is always the case, for every person signing up for a forum to complain, there are probably a hundred happy customers merrily going about their business. According to MM's own forum the current moderated content accounts for less than half of one-percent of published user created content, and the majority of that had penis monsters and other lewd/suggestive content. The "copyright infringement" stink amounts to a few hundred levels out of tens of thousands.

As for lag, as said, I don't have any problem with LBP, and every time I play there are thousands of people online playing. Every level has 200-400 people in it, and there are 25 core levels! The minigames usually all show 100+ being online, and there are another 30 or so of those.

Remember, a big part of the online is that one of the PS3's among your group is going to be designated a host. Hopping into someone elses Pod if they're an overseas player with a crappy asynchronous WiFi connection is going to cause problems.

sometimes when i play with blazing who is in ireland, i get lag,

but nothing when i play with people closer.

btw: sound clarity it's awesome, you can heard people playing in a co op with 4 people perfectly.

Even during the beta of LBP there was a large amount of lag. I would join a game to play with some people and all of the sudden I would see them bouncing and jumping around and my guy wasnt doing jack.
