Forums - Sales - First To 50M Wii Vs X360 + PS3

It Currently Stands At

PS360 - 39.03M

Wii - 35.68M (-3.35m)

Can it catch up in time? i dont thing it will. PS3 and 360 will sell 4 - 5m each and wii will be close to 10m so that will take them to 48m - 45m. so Wii will just miss out by a month or so.

also who will win overall? will Wii obtain 50% marketshare ever and retain it?.

i dont think so it should settle a little under ~45% as PS3 when pricecuts hit will increase and 360 should still sell well should be able to sell what Wii is capable of each week although they have been losing this year.

If Holidays weren't near the Wii could make it, but it'd be funny because that case the Wii would sell 15m alone and the PS3 and X360 together wouldn't even sell 11 m :P

50% Marketshare could happen by the end of the Q2 2009 for the Wii, but it will definitely come after it is all said and done December 31st, 2009.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

I'm still standing by the Wii breaking 50% by the end of the year, and the reason is the economy, the Wii is recession proof, the 360 and PS3 not so much. With GM and probably also Ford, teetering on bankruptcy and Bush showing that he's not inclined to help out there or with another stimulus package, unless the Dems help him on Colombia; which is unlikely, if one, or both, of those two auto giants go, which is what i'm expecting, before December, they'll drag many companies, jobs and the stock market down with them, and put a massive crimp on holiday sales. The Wii will likely weather it well, as its the hot system, that everyone and their dog wants, but the others will be hurt by the fall.

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

PS360 not even close.

ps360 will definitely make it there by like 2 million ahead of wii probably. of course after the holidays ps360 sales will go way down and wii will still be selling like 400k probably, as long as they don't have everyotherweek supply problems like the beginnign of last year. anyways, wii will lose the battle to 50 million but hit 50% maketshare by like april i'd say.

end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million,  360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million

Games I've beat recently: Super Mario Galaxy, Knights of the Old Republic, Shadow of the Collossus

Proud owner of wii, gamecube, xbox, ps2, dreamcast, n64, snes, genesis, 3DO, nes, atari, intellivision, unisonic tournament 2000, and gameboy

for the wii to tie the ps3/360 to 50M it would have to have 57.7% marketshare this holiday. ytd the wii is about 60% marketshare.

it will be very close imo. all depends on how many wii's nintendo has stockpiled.

The PS360 duo will definitely reach there first, but it will really be a close one.
