Forums - Microsoft - MS Rep: Fall update will be big trouble

Actually, I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread.

  1. It's from a website that any person can make a random blog and seem official
  2. The blog only has 4 posts ever in the two months it has been around
  3. The blog has no followers
  4. It's obviously some fanboy who obviously made up the customer service rep
  5. It can only cause more rampant fanboy arguing than actual good discussion.  I'm just saving myself headaches.

Around the Network

I would agree this hardly seems reputable. Microsoft apparently subcontracts their phone customer service out to India. I find it a little unbelievable that someone could hold on a in depth meaningful conversation with one. Let alone have an inside track in being able to speak to one off duty. I respect the work they do it cannot be easy conversing in a non native tongue with someone half a world away, but often enough they are muddling their way through a conversation with a vocabulary little more then a few hundred words. When talking in a language with a million words, and diverse accents it has to be a little more then trifling.

When I read comments like these I really want to know how this blogger was capable of finding themselves not only a comparatively knowledgeable customer service representative, but one that actually speaks English. Me and a few million other 360 owners would love to know how to get in contact with this guy. Had I had this guy I could have had my 360 coffin on its way in under thirty minutes. Rather then having to go to Microsoft's forums in search of help. After the phone representative couldn't help me.

Anyway.

While it is true software updates can crash consoles, and in very rare cases actually kill consoles. They are not the cataclysm that this supposed source proclaims. A software problem is not going to Chernobyl your console which is what is required to cause the red ring of death. Being that the 360 is supremely hackable I would wager it couldn't even cause a security lock out.
