lol! This thread is an epic fail :)

I would agree that lately(last couple months), the X360 has been in a better position than the PS3 but you are forgetting the 8 other months of the year where the PS3 has been dominating the X360 both in sales and games.

Most likely, the PS3 will win the year and least likely the x360 will get close to par with the ps3.

Silly fanboys :)



I am a Gamer... I play games and not consoles. I have a PC and Console on which I game... I like games. End of Story!

Wait, I don't get the fallout 3 comparison shots. the 360 one looks a lot better to me.

Anyways, the 360 had a great year and continues to build on it's successes. Were it not for hardware issues, who knows how successful the console could have been.

This is off gamerankings. Biggest hits this year

MGS4 92.48 versus Braid 92.37%

Resistance 2 88.0% versus Fable 2 88.8%

LBP 95.35 versus GOW2 93.9%

Games in top 30 rankings for 2008: 360 13, PS3 11.

Average consesus is that all multiplatform games go like this still: PC>360>PS3

Pretty close to me, I don't know about domination. Also overall the average 360 game rating is higher then the PS3 on year end.

Game sales wise 360 is wiping the floor with the PS3, and Hardware 360 won't lose by much and may even win by years end if this keeps up.

Just accept third place. Nintendo did and won this generation (Gamecube anyone?) Wii>360>PS3. Get over it.

Netflix is only in USA this year while most of the Europe doesn't even have 360 video marketplace yet (at least, Finland doesn't have one). And Fallout 3 differences are so tiny that it doesn't matter. Even reviews are practically identical for both versions (see metacritic).

Yeah, I'm in America so I don't really care that Europe gets Netflix late.  I may sound like a jerk but whatever, I have Netflix bitches. :-p

And for Fallout 3, the graphical difference is pretty much nonexistant, but the major freezing and game bugs are all on the PS3 side.  The reviewers seemed to be able to forgive this for some odd reason but everyone one I know that has played the game on the PS3 hasn't.

2009 will be a new year and a fresh start assuming sony beef up thier strategey. first, lower the price of the ps3 $299 however wheres the games? i mean like what sony needs is more games like resistance 2, more shooters and defintily more rpgs. 2nd find a company that can contend with netflix and even if its a smaller company as long as it basically gives the same serivce as netflix,

 

so yea, price change and definitly more exclusive games, i think these two are most important if sony wants to even up.
