you could just pay MS to fix it and then once you get it back... if you don't want it anymore you can just sell it to someplace like ebay and show a pic of it working (this is always a must and its something I do.. because when they recieve it at least they can't BS about you sending them a broken machine) and maybe show the proof that its just been repaired and cleaned by MS so hopefully it can sell for a bit more than what you paid to get fixed
