I was shopping at a Gamestop just now as they were doing a 5:00 pm release for Call of Duty: World at War.

 Over 100 people were lined up outside for the release. I made my purchase, and hung out to watch what sold.

5 minutes before the sale started the manager walked outside and informed the crowd that they did not receive the Wii version today. To my surprise 15 to 20 people left the (still growing) line.

The people in line overwhelming purchased the 360 version. The PS3 was lucky to sell one copy for every 5 the 360 sold. I didn't see any PS2 versions sold.

It will be interesting to see who takes 2nd in week 1 sales, PS3 or Wii. I would have expected PS3 to easily take 2nd, but more people left from the Wii announcement than purchased the PS3 version.

Interesting, but I think the PS3 version will be in 2nd place. The COD series is still relatively fresh to the Wii, so there will be more initial demand for the PS3 version. Who knows what the gameplay for the Wii version is like.......

Doesn't surprise me as a lot of friends of mine are prefer the 360 for their multi-format gaming. Second the Wii might be starving for this type of game in their library so it might sell a lot during the holidays.

That is insane and bodes well for the Wii version if you said a lot left when they informed they didn't have any. Maybe we are seriously underestimating this game.

MS will pleased with all software sales even for multiplatform titles 360 is beast at software sales
