Well Square had gone down hill creativly since Wada became CEO.
So it wouldn't surprise me if the creative people were upset with him.
To say it's because FF13 is going to 360 though. I'd call that a serious stretch.

Amano, Ito and Nojima are still working for Square as freelancers. Tsuchida is in charge of FFXIII's battle system(was also in charge of FFX's one) and i did like Hamauzu's work in X.

If you're going by that, so is Uematsu (he composed Advent Children and FFXII's main theme while freelancer, and is also composing FFXIII's main theme)

Sakaguchi - gone Uematsu - gone if Kitase and Nomura are out, who's left?

Ito and Minagawa (The former directed IX and co-directed XII, the latter co-directed XII and was involved in Tactics and Vagrant Story)

He's obviousy trying to earn money... but even with the monolith franchise that FF is, he's in the wrong genre. Creativity in RPG's is key, and who knows what he has changed in projects since he became CEO.

Except what Uematsu's part in FFXIII is minor, while Amano and Nojima do their usual job in it. And to me it doesnt matter if they are freelancers or not as long as they work on the game. And I dont see any reason why it should matter to you.
Isn't Amano only doing the design for the logo of the game, like he did with XII?

He is the image illustrator in all three Fabula Nova Crystallis games, he also appears to play some additional role in Versus's development (but thats the impression I've got from the fact what there is his painting in the game) He does the same job in upcoming FFs he did in FFVII, VIII and X.

According to wiki
| Final Fantasy XII | 2006 | PlayStation 2 | Promotional Artwork, Title Logo Designer & Image Illustrator |
|---|---|---|---|
| Final Fantasy XIII | ? | PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 | Promotional Artwork, Title Logo Designer & Image Illustrator |
| Final Fantasy Agito XIII | ? | PlayStation Portable | Promotional Artwork, Title Logo Designer & Image Illustrator |
| Final Fantasy Versus XIII | ? | PlayStation 3 | Promotional Artwork, Title Logo Designer & Image Illustrator |
And Nojima hasn't been confirmed in any role in any upcoming FF

Oh yeah, but it still makes people angry. The mass recycling of remakes and ports started when Wada became CEO.
They started focusing more on the "Big" franchises and started making less original new stuff... etc.

Which would be - what? Preliminary character concept sketches, before that's expanded on by other artists? I know he was the "image illustrator" for FFXII too, but Ii have trouble believing that this job went beyond the logo design.
