hello people! Its a bit long but if you can help with a ps3 in need please read it !

I went onto turn my ps3 on and while its fine playing games and dvds, whenever i want to watch a video or look at some photos it takes 5-10 secs just to load up the icon and then a furtehr 5 ish secs to  actually watch or view the items. Also when i go on for instance system settings or display settings it takes about 2 seconds after i pressed that option to go onto it and it kinda freezes for that amount of time. This problem has only just recently occured and i was wondering if anyone has had this kind of thing before? Or knows how to fix it?  I have a 40gb uk ps3, bought last xmas btw.

Maybe your Hd is full try deleting some things if it is or try reformating the Hd.

It sounds like some kind of problem with your HDD (too full, might be about to crash, etc.). It might be your firmware otherwise. Do you run into any kind of problems like this when playing games?

Try clearing out some of the clutter on your PS3. Alsom is there a defragment tool? That could help speed some shit up.

well i have about 12gb of free space out of 40 which isnt bad but this has only just recently happened, it was fine yesterday with the same amount of space

get the saves.


if that doesn't work, and your are on warranty better go sony for a check up.

Yeah, I think a disk clean up is in order. I find mine gets slow at times because the disc is full.

Oh god... I've just realised that blazinhead89 and headshot91 are different people.

I kept getting confused when one said that they're from Ireland, and the other from Greater London.

Damn, I feel like a fool.
