Considering I read so much comments about Obama and his 'terrorist friends' I am quite surprised that no one said 'So Obama is going to have a talk with some of his friends?'.

| Esmoreit said:This is kinda like a "what came first: chicken or egg?" story but I'd say that to solve the Hamas/fatah conflict Obama/ the Americans (actually, not just the Americans but also representatives of from the EU, Russias perhaps, etc) need to speak with Hamas.
Can we then assume that they will cease hostilities before the end of Barracks term? I don't think so. There's a constant spiral of violence there. I mean, after a ceasefire some local hamas supporter out of anger or whatever decides to go rogue and fire a few rocket on Israelian ground. Israel responds by blazing through a few refugee camps which instigates anger amongst Hamas who retaliates in full. On the other hand, during a ceasefire Israel at times takes the liberty to invade the westbank for instance to block tunnels after which Hamas responds with rocketfire (this was a few days ago by the way.) The world cannot expect any of both sides to stop on their own before peacetalks are underway. So I'd say, don't knock it before trying it. Just go in there, while rockets are flying to both sides of the border for all I care and get talking. See if it leads anywhere and perhaps we can build upon those talks to set fair precedents then. |
The US and the EU cannot negotiate with them, however, because Hamas is a terrorist group. Unless the political segment of Hamas can curtail the violence perpetrated by the al-Qassam Brigade, no diplomatic undertakings can commence. The conflict within the PNA will have to be solved by our allies in the region. Hitherto that ally has been Egypt. That is why the recent postponement of the meetings is most unfortunate. As Obama has stated, we simply cannot have diplomatic undertakings with Hamas unless they denounce violence and recognize Israel’s right to exist. The news from certain Hamas leaders that it is willing to “accept” Israel and has laid out a tentative peace plan is encouraging, but they need to build upon that. I wish Hamas did not perpetrate and advocate violence. It has an extensive social care network that is admirable.

I can show you a video of people who like to rape babies. Does mean we can tag America as a country of baby fuckers? It;s a video of a fringe group. Think anything you want up, and I can go find that group. When you talk about Hamas, and then show a video like this and say was a as a people are no different, it's ridicules. Funny how Akume has put down our military, said he would rather live in france, compared us to Hamas, yet it's only my character you question because I say he is anti american? unfucking believable.

Nobody said America is a land of terrorist training camps. I know you don't believe this but I want you to make a logical argument, so we can all learn why somebody might disagree? I point out some flaw in your reasoning and you respond with more flawed reasoning.
The bolded one doesn't follow.
You say that Hamas is different than the group in the video, of course they are, but the lady in the video says the only difference is that they believe in Jesus. Your statement isn't necessarily wrong but it's not a complete argument, explain it, what is the difference between the two groups other than that one is actively violent and the other is planning violence?
He didn't compare us to Hamas, he compared some looney toon kid toucher to Hamas. Hamas doesn't molest children, so I take offense to that.
Your argument is believable, it's what we come to expect. Opinions with out any logical or factual support.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
Criticizing America in any form is giving into the terrorists, steven. Hasn't Mafoo taught you that yet?
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
By that logic, Mafoo criticizing us (Americans) who are criticizing other citizens, supports terrorists.

I like your way of thinking, sir. You got anything to say about that Mafoo? Turns out YOU are the one supporting terrorism.

It's really funny to hear (read) people who know nothing about American history claim "intentions of the Founders/Forefathers", as we hear so often from the right.
I've explained previously how markets are NEVER mentioned in the constitution in any way other than setting taxes.
Deeper than that, the 16-18th Century English were looked at by the rest of Europe as the most argumentative and disagreeable people. They never stopped arguing with each other.
18th Century Americans made the English look like they were one big happy family.
This countries strength is the fact that we never get along and are so quick to hurt each others' feelings.
The fact that 99.99% of the time we do it without violence is amazing.

Oh no, absolutely. They are a minority within a minority. But you would be surprised how many evangelicals saw that movie and were proud of what they saw. Notably, some evangelicals were embarassed by what they saw as well. I grew up in a town where there actually are people who are like this, so the movie definitely struck a cord with me.

I saw Jesus Camp! i remember going to one of those camps. Got so scared I came outside during these worship times.
The difference however is that Jesus camp preaches peace, goodness, kindness, not doing drugs, etc.
Hamas want their kids to murder Jews.

But isn't indoctrinating them into being anti-government radicals (they are smashing mugs with "government" written on them among other things) almost as bad? Their flagrant desire to blend religion and government is as dangerous as any weapon. Hell, I am more scared of people like this than I am of the KKK.
If you destroy the ideals a country stands upon you don't even need to destroy its people. Violence can cause physical harm, but ideological warfare can destroy an entire country.

I'm more afraid for the children then I am afraid of them. I'm being very serious when I say that type of radicalism isn't normal in an industrialized nation with a balanced, fairly healthy economic system.
Those kids are being raised and taught by mentally unstable people. I am scared for them.
