Nintendo adverts are just the best of the best, celebrities playing a game = Sales
360 just slap on the 360 logo at the end of every multi-plat game = Sales
Sony make ridiculous adverts which show the actual game for 3 seconds = Retardation.

Then again the latest 360 adverts where they show a fugly person close up, rotates to the back of the head for a bigger scenery which is also retardation. Ooh just as I write this I see a Nintendo advert showing Girls Aloud playing Mario Kart.

Nintendo, you geniuses.

There is nothing genius about Nintendo ads. They are catering to casual + non gamers, your mums, dads and sisters of this world.

There is no way an alpha male who is still unsure of what console to get will think 'hmmm Girls Aloud are playing GOW2 I think I might get me one of those'

In fact, the alpha male is thinking "Wow Cheryl Tweedy and Nadine Coyle are hot, and they're playing Gears of War 2!!!, i didn't know it was out" the ad worked because the women attracted his attention and then it reminded him that the game was out"... Of course, it would be cheaper to just hire two attractive women, no need for full celebrity jejeje...

Wouldn't call it fact. Seeing the game would remind him it was out. Guess our definition of alpha male is different. Personally I would find it a ridiculous sight though I can see it appealing to teenagers. Who shouldn't really be playing it. Still...that Cheryl...she'd get it.

Well here in Australia i had seen 3 ads since the launch of the ps3 but there advertising heaps in time for xmas on TV in the newspaper and at every store that sell them there are pamphlets showing what the PS3 does.

There is also a huge push for Blu-ray by Sony and Disney both advertising the PS3 as a blu-ray player.

I was making a joke, well more like a parody of those classic commercials, like when men buy more beer when they see women in bikini in their commercials, or the guy that buys Dead or Alive, Tomb Raider, etc., because of the girls in it, hell one friend bought Assasin's Creed because he loves Kristen Bell... I know that the real gamer checks the game, not the women in the commercial (he still sees the women, but is not a sale factor)...

And it's true, Cheryl'd get it...

i live in the uk nd i have no ps3 adds but like 5 360 ones about gh world tour and downloadin music on ur 360

I watch a lot of TV, I have only seen one LBP ad in the Mirror...that's it.

I'm stumped on why they are not showing more TV ad advertising the games. I guess they are just no in the programs I watch (X Factor? er, no, the comic is better).

The Wii I see alot but it's the same like 3 or 4, DS have Julie Walters and Patrick Stewart and the Wii has the Redknapp family. Just playing games.

360 I'm kind of getting sick off, I don't even think they are any good. They aren't advertising game, just the services. And then just plastering their price at the end like it is the reason to get it. Of course it also doesn't tell people they might need a £50 wireless adaptor which has never gone down in price.

Hmm, pie.

I still don't see many PS3 ads, I've seen two in he last week, one for LBP and he other for WWE.

The 360 adverts are on nearly every advert break now, but I quite like them, funny faces :D

However, if I have to see Patrick Stewart or the Redknapp family playing games (the redknapp one lasted like 2 minutes) I'm going to scream, and considering they're on about 3 times per break, I'll be screaming a lot.

i haven't seen any PS3 ads for a while , it's mostly multiplatform games that I see.

Better sit down for this Bombshell

Roughly 50 percent of the worlds population are female.

Selling to them and potentially doubling your market is generally considered a good move !

Hence Nintendo you geniuses !

Nintendo have been aiming at the female market with their ads for some time now, nothing different there. Ever seen those Nintendogs ads amongst others?
