Forums - Gaming - EGM monthly Rumors

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3161576

The newest pages of Electronic Gaming Monthly bring a tasty plate of rumors from the Quartermann. Remember when he teased about a Bionic Commando remake coming to PlayStation Network? Turns out development has gone better than expected, as the downloadable's been canned in favor of a full-fledged game. Now, if they'd only get the original up on Virtual Console...

RPG developer Level 5 hasn't said much lately about their highly anticipated PlayStation 3 debut, White Knight Story, but that isn't all they're working on. At Tokyo Game Show in September, they will announce four brand-new RPGs coming over the next few years. Of course, don't expect all of them to be console bound; PSP and Nintendo DS need some HP and MP lovin', too.

If that wasn't enough RPG goodness, expect Square Enix to take a break from remaking Final Fantasy games to...remake Dragon Quest games, instead. The first one in the makeover chair? Dragon Quest IV, headed straight for the DS. Surprise, surprise.

The more Level 5 games, the better I say. Any Bionic Commando fans here?

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Yeah, more Level 5 games.... BRING THEM ON!!! Can't wait to hear more about it! Think they will show Professor Layton and the Phantom's Box at TGS. First part is so sweet

Oh god, more remakes... though ...Dragon Quest... I can't say no to that.

Square making MORE remakes?....>_>...they´re officially 80% stuck in the past.

I only played the first Dragon Warrior game. Still have that cartridge, actually. I imagine V, & VI will follow if IV is popular since those two were never released in the US and as I understand it, the storylines are related.

To cash in my CC rewards points for $300 in Circuit City gift cards to purchase a 360 or not: That is the question.

Yeah, Square is pissing me off lately (though I still love them to death for the last two generations). They haven't even got very far along in developing FFXIII, one of their only new games. Hopefully Last Remant will be good.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

sweet, more games by Level 5 FTW :)

@WiiGirl: Don't get too excited I hear they are giving I-V Swords style gameplay. I kid, I kid.

@Topic: As wrong as (the good) EGM rumors tend to be, I still love reading them.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

If all of the DQ games actually left Japan I would agree with you.

However, a handful of them remained Japan-only, and if you will remember, DQ1-3 (still called Dragon Warrior 1-3) were remade on the GBC several years back.  I was hoping they'd get back into that, DW4 was a very cool take on the DQ setup, but my god they messed up the NES graphics with it.  They used a lot of pink.
