that damn RROD thing keeps putting me off.

I can get an elite for a very good price (especially that it comes with a special feature that the ps3 currently doesn't have).Sure there's no online(there's no chance in hell I am paying for what clearly should be free) but my internet speed (and I shamefully say it) is only 256/32 Kbit/s so it never works the way it should anyway, and there's no bluray but I don't have an HD set yet, but there's still that special feature.

Why it's such a big deal eventhough some owners have claimed(and I hardly doubt it because parting with your main gaming system for 2 weeks is no laughting matter) that sending it in was no problem, is that I don't have that kind of option where I am, If it dies on me that's it,game over, I have to buy another one.

So if I rationalise my play sessions to no more than 3 hours and put a fan next to it is there a chance that it would survive 3-5 years? or is it only a matter of time before it puts on the infamous monochromatic light show?

P.S:Don't get me wrong, I still think PS3>360 and I am only getting it for (the ridiclously awesome) Gears of War.

I hate people that pirate, its just terrible for the gaming companies, look at the psp and its software.

So you want to buy a hacked 360 so you can bootleg, but you are afraid of RROD.......Life sure is hard. Just buy the system and pay for the good games.

lol 360 games should be free, i wud get really pissd to see my system die after spending a good $300-$400 on it. i am in the same position you are in man g2a ps3 but am waiting for boxin day to try and get a good 360 deal just for gears of war 2
