Closing Comments
Thanks to the premise of the game, Legendary could've been an interesting adventure with monsters, powers and the apocalypse as a backdrop. Unfortunately, the gameplay comes across as messy and incomplete, the arrangement of hazards and threats from monsters is ineffective at best and boring at worst. Plot points and development is practically nonexistent, and the standard shooter mechanics just fall flat. If you need a shooter, look elsewhere, because Legendary isn't close to what its namesake claims to be.

I actually wanted to post this in the afternoon (in europe time), but my laptop crashed. D'OH!!!

I think IGN has been going a bit overboard in handing out bad ratings lately, but... I have to agree with the basic premise that Legendary is not anything special... another humdrum shooter.

Yet... its better than 2.3... and the new SOCOM is way better than 4.5 or whatever IGN (Jeff Haynes... same reviewer) gave it too. I would much rather they consider the typical buyer when reviewing, rather than taking an elitist "Its not Halo or Gears or Resistance, therefore it sucks" attitude and knocking down titles which are not great, but not as horrid as they paint them.
