Forums - Nintendo - No More Heroes 2 Publisher Ubisoft!?

Honestly I could care less who publishes it because Im pretty sure it'll still be awesome. All you need to grow the fuck up if you think its gonna suck just because Ubisoft is publishing. Only thing it can effect is sales.

Tip:Publishers arent developers smart asses!

No More Heroes 2 and Ubisoft

Sources say Suda 51's Wii-exclusive sequel won't be published by XSeed Games in NA after all.

November 6, 2008 - At the Tokyo Game Show 2008, Grasshopper Manufacture revealed that it was developing No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle, a Wii-exclusive sequel to the cult-hit game of the same franchise. At the time, the developer also made known that Marvelous Entertainment would handle publishing rights in Japan. Meanwhile, reports surfaced that up-and-comer XSeed Games was set to take over publishing rights America, but that doesn't appear to the case at all. As far as we can tell, this was a journalistic presumption based on the fact that XSeed Games will bring to America a number of other Wii games distributed by Marvelous in Japan, including Arcrise Fantasia and Muramasa: The Demon Blade.

But according to sources familiar with the deal, third-party Ubisoft, which distributed the first game stateside, is in negotiations to do the same for the sequel. IGN has not been able to independently confirm this tip -- we contacted both Ubisoft and XSeed Games and reps for both companies had no comment -- so we advise readers to consider it rumor for now. Obviously, we will continue to follow the story and update with any new details that become available.

Although none of director Goichi Suda's recent titles have achieved blockbuster status, the original No More Heroes, with about 150,000 copies bought, did perform relatively well in the U.S. and undoubtedly proved profitable as a pick-up for Ubisoft.

In Desperate Struggle, anti-hero Travis Touchdown returns to Santa Destroy with Beam Katana in hand, this time hell-bent on revenge. Suda has promised a more complex open world and a more serious tone for this new game, which is expected to ship for Wii early 2010. Stay tuned to IGN for more on the project in the coming months.

In the US, it's got 220K, so he isn't that off.

But still, if Ubisoft publishes it, I think they'd be willing to market it. Suda's games never sold this well, so Ubi knows they have a hit this time.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Makes sense since they published the last one. Now that they have an established franchise, they'll probably push it a bit more.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

They have published the last one aswell.

Im still not going for Ubisoft publishing this. Im not big on the 'anti-ubisoft' boycott or anything like that, but their last few (as in like 10 :P) games have been stemming piles of shit.

To bad they're only publishing......can i haz no more heroez dogz fashionz?
