I have been preoccupied over the last month and I have been able to get on VGChartz very minimally. It's because my grandmother has NASH.

It is Non-Acoholic Steatohepatitis (I think), and it is a form of Non-Alcoholic fatty liver disease. It can cause cirrhosis in the liver.

She was admitted to Virtua Health hospital some time ago. Her insulin was not working properly for her diabetes, so they checked for anything wrong with her. And they found a lump on her liver. They performed a biopsy on it, and we recieved the results. I have no idea the mortality rate or severity of it.

I am right now very scared for her life. My mother has to work and our grandmother is left to care for us. If she was gone, I don't know what we do.

She has to start chemo-therapy, and I have no idea if her disease is advanced or not. Right now, I am just scared and worried and hoping that she will be fine.

I hope it will turn out all right as well. But cirrhosis, chemo-therapy, hepatitis. All these words appear. Will my grandmother really get better? Or is she going to die?

Hey mate, sorry to hear about your grandmother.

Firstly i can only give you very general information because i don't have all the facts about your grandmother's condition, specifically the exact condition of her liver at present and why exactly she is getting chemo and what kind.

Nonetheless NASH in itself is not a very serious condition and tends to cause little or no symptoms. While it can as you said lead to more serious liver disease such as cirrhosis, the condition can in a best cause remit (improve) and in the worst case still tends to take years, sometimes even decades to progress.

With the exception of me not knowing about the chemo, the upshot is that this may not affect your grandmother's life too much right at the moment and it may not change her medical treatment (for her diabetes or any other conditions) very much. The general advice given to all patients with diabetes; weight loss if possible, balanced diet, exercise if possible and not drinking excessively, still holds true.

If you are still worried the best thing i can suggest to you is do a little bit of reading, write down the questions that you have and pose them to your grandmother's doctor if you have the opportunity.
