It been a question on my mind for months now. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas almost sold 4 million but it sold 3.9 million first week. It still managed to be the fastest selling game of all time. I mean, it sold 5 million copies worldwide within two weeks combined! I always wondered if a game can sell 4 million copies first week of sales worldwide.

What do you guys think?

It's possible... some of the big names, as this generation continues. For instance, Halo 4 absolutely could, assuming there are 30m+ xboxes when it comes out. G

You never know about Final Fantasy XIII as well.

Any Wow expansion if they ever decide to do worldwide releases for them...

Final Fantasy XIV: Super Mario Halo will definately top 4m in one week.

The use of ever makes this a dumb question. It will certainly happen eventually, the number of consoles sold each generation is more than the last.

As for this gen? I doubt it. GTA seems to have lost its shine, GT will not have the install base

FFXIII sales haven't been anywhere near good enough since FFVII

Animal Crossing and Wii Sports Resort the 2 biggest announced but not released games this gen will be leg based games, not frontloaded

DQIX has the potential.

They are usually Japan centric titles of which have seen first day sales in Japan of over 2 million. Given the global anticipation for the title and the prolific sales of the DS globally, it has as much of a chance as any game I can think of at the moment.
