I actually agreed with most of what said about the underhanded tactics businesses use that you talked about in your previous post. But all I see in response if you repeating the same thing over and over and education. Yes I took it as you were trying to use your education as a tool to make your point more valid, or discredit anothers views. Cause lets me honest it does happen alot on forums, some jackass will come on and post "I have degree in ..." just to make himself or his views more valid. If I took your use of your education the wrong way then I apologize.

I've always wondered about people who tell me they've PAID for 4 or 5 VBOX 360s.  Why would they do that?  The MS warranty on the RROD issue is a 3 year warranty... (heck, it's only been about 3 years since the 360 was released, so even an original first series console is covered by the warranty.

Then again, they could be like my brother.  His red ringed 6 mos. ago, and he still hasn't sent it in to get it fixed.  Instead he bought another one that red ringed, and now that one is gathering dust too... and still he hasn't sent either XBOX in to get fixed for free.

Yeah, I don't understand it neither. With MS covering every expense including shipping why would you want to buy a new console? It's silly. I paid 400€ at launch back in 2005 and the hell if I'm gonna spend money buying a new unit considering MS who are to blame for the whole thing will fix it for free.

Also, for the record. I have two friends with 360s that have never RROD, two with one, three with two, and one with four. And I'm on my third PS3 (first time it overheated because I didn't clean the air intake. second was DRE)

Luckily, when mine finally RROD'd a few weeks ago, MS just sent me a brand new one (not a refurb) so they restored my faith in them.  Besides, if this one RRODs as well, I'll get another one for free if it happens in the next 3 years, and if it doesn't... well, the 360 will be replaced by the 720 or whatever they decide to call it anyway.

As much grief as MS gets about releasing half-tested products, although true, they also ALWAYS stand behind and fix their products for free every time.  There aren't a whole lot of companies left that do that.  Most of them say "tough crap" and wipe their hands clean of the problem.  That's why I'll buy the next gen XBOX whenever they decide to release it.

Yep, I always find it funny how some people are all over MS for these issues and they ignored how Sony did jack'n shit about the weak drive they built into the ps2. I've got friends who've had to buy several ps2 or pay the repairs out of their own pocket.

LOL, OMG, that brings back nightmares.  I was one of the first in line to get the PS2 when it was released, and my DVD-Rom drive crapped out on me in the first year.  Sony tech support stinks, and did nothing to help me.  So instead of fixing it myself (or paying them to) I went and bought the original XBOX.  I never would have spent as much money with Microsoft on both XBOXes (and games) as I did if they would have helped me when my PS2 went to heck.  I've spent at least 5 grand on both consoles and games for them.  That money could have been spent with Sony had they taken the time to own up to their mistakes.

Don't get me wrong, I did buy the PS3 still (late adopter though), but I dread the thought if something goes wrong with it, because I doubt that they will help me.  Actually when the update right before 2.5 came out on the PS3 a few months back, my PS3 locked up and wouldn't install the update after trying for an hour...

I called tech support at Sony, and waited on hold, and got passed around for another hour before I finally gave up and just figured it out myself.

When my XBOX RROD'd, I literally told the MS rep that I knew it was the RROD problem, and that I just wanted to send in my console for repair... she said, "no problem".  Emailed me a link for the label about 30-min later, and a week after that got my new console.  That's great customer service if you ask me.

so.. you got 4 360s.

bough a new one because reliability was suppose to be better.

i hope M$ bleeds in demands.

i think i will spend the money i got in games for ds psp ps3.
