Forums - Microsoft - So i am on my 5th xbox........

At 5 RROD, I think your problem is not with Microsoft. You obviously have bad karma. Are you really mean to people? Kill anyone?

I think it's somewhat conspicuous that so many individuals are claiming multiple 360 failures.

I have a launch 360 (which I can prove if need be). It performed a RROD act one time within the first two weeks of purchase. I unplugged the machine and then replugged it and it was fine. Since the software updates, I have not experienced any RROD occurrences...

Either I'm mighty lucky, some folks are mighty cursed or it's some kind of paid marketing frontier against the 360...

I don't know..just seems the RROD thing is becoming a little repetitive and I do not understand how some individuals have multiple instances of RROD with new equipment when I have one of the first models and it works perfectly fine (with the exception of the one aforementioned instance).

I'm not a fanboy, I just try to tip the balance in favor of logic and common sense.

I may be wrong but I don't trust your post

Got 1 RROD (after 1 year) once and it was fixed within a week. My system is runnign smoothly for another year already.

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

congratulations. Must feel good to have a new xbox.
I am on my third.
the most recent one I bought was manufactured in August of 2008. so I'm thinking it'll be ok.
but it froze on me twice thus far - playing hexic!

Goes to show you that MS followed Sony suit in system quality. I wonder how many people re-bought ps2 due to defects. Everyone knows about ps1 first generation systems all freezing/overheating. So congrats MS for releasing a bugged system that pisses your costumers off. At least they took the balls to pay for the repairs/shipping new systems to their customers for free. I remember when my ps1 first generation was about 2 months past the warranty and they informed me that I would have to pay $75 dollars. They didn't fix anything but did ship me a new system which I suppose was the second generation ps1. Nothing against these two companies but they need to realize they better ship a system that hardly ever croaks.

-Oops put second generation ps2 first, meant to put ps1

Cute.

Funny, all of my other friends who I actually have real life interactions with who own a 360 do not experience these multiple failures.

I mean, considering how some tactlessly like to imply that the RROD is such an overwhelming phenomenon...I just figured I would witness more real life examples. That is all.

I also think the RROD scenario may have been exagerrated a little bit. As soon as some individuals witnessed the RROD maybe they immediately assumed the hardware was dead? I am not justifying the RROD...Microsoft should have exercised better quality control measures and judgement.

But the 360 catches a lot of flack for the same problems past consoles also experienced, but it's exageratted by a million it seems.

My launch hardware performed a RROD yet I presently still use that very same equipment to play Fable 2...used that same equipment to play Mass EFfect and Oblivion. I did not just assume the hardware was dead and send it back.

It's just hard to swallow the supposed testimonies of users whose posting history imply that maybe they have somewhat of an agenda.

I'm sorry. A company should never ever allow this things like this to happen... for a product to be so faulty. (Then again we are talking about the company who makes windows so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they release such things... and no I do not Like Sony and their stupid Disc Read Errors and stuff they put the customers through with their products either though I never personally had the problem.)

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

ok another post where because it didnt happen to you then you dont understand......

A lot of closed minded people.

This is not an opinon its a fact. You dont trust a fact your a little silly.

its just the highest defective rate in a system ever so when one is defective we should all be suprised!!!!........ yea right.
