Forums - Gaming - Games that get old,and games that don't.

Some games don't get old, some does...It is sad..

First games that get old:

Final Fantasy Vii

Tho it has good combat system and great story, and lots to do,graphics are just so old..

Metal Gear Solid

Tho I'm huge fan of mgs,it gets old at gameplay (way too easy/hard),graphics,tho story kicks some ass.Good thing it has new port as GC,Twin Snakes.

Tekken 2.

Well sequels are all that matters..

Resident Evil

Again its good that new ports have come.(Gc right, and Wii edition coming?)

Halo 1

Well..Nothing to say here.

Galerians

I really tried to enjoy this few moths ago...It had great story and weird gameplay..

Gta III

There is more but these are games that I have played at old times and now have tried to start them...Tho Mgs 1 still kicks some ass.

Some others that I'm too tired now to put:

Half Life

Duke Nukem

Mortal Combat

Now for games that don't get old (So many...)

First of course, one of my best:

Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi Island + Mario Brothers

It so great game and graphics are great and unique,I still have orginal but I have bought 2 other ports for Gba and Ds..

Tho all Marios seems that they just wont get old and die.

Megaman X2

Another childhood game that I still enjoy the most.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

Tho there has been new ports for PSP from orginal of Ps1(Which I really like aswell), this is still great game on GBA that I used to play where ever I go.

Ofc my best game ever,

Grandia

It has that god dam great battle system and unique graphics,I have played this like 5 times over, and best story of all time (Kicked and banned)

Final Fantasy VIII

Played it over again about year ago...Graphics are OK,combat is cool and story is good also, but most important:CARD GAME!

Secret Of Mana

When I was kid and had only 1 Rpg on snes:It was Secret of Mana.Still has it and playing it now and then when I have time.

Tetris

Advance Wars

Graphics are what they are but gameplay never gets old.You can play this hours and hours and hours..This is one of few reason I have to buy Ds when new one comes out.

Final Fantasy X

I still keep playing it now and then and graphics are, maybe one of the best,it has great combat and story, and hey, LETS PLAY BLITZBALL!

Devil May Cry

While there has been 3 other games,I can still say this is the best Devil May Cry of all.It great waepon skills and devil modes and zomg what a gameplay still kicks ass like...well...Dante.Story is very great since he is half demon half human, whit his father as Legendary Dark Knight Sparda and his evil twin brother Vergil.

Castlevania Dawn Of Sorrow

Graphics are very unique and gameplay gets great because you get over 100 souls which you use at battle or while fighting enemies. One of few reasons I have to always buy Ds when new Castlevania comes..

Red Alert 2

Still playing it now and then. You can't get bored of this.

Some others I'm too tired to list

Counter Strike Source

Command And Conquer 3

Age Of Empires 2

World Of Warcraft (Well I got tired at 50 lvl...)

Thats it for now.I might add new ones when I have some time.

8-bit games get old.
16-bit games age fairly well.
32 bit games age like shit (with a few exceptions)
6th gen games age pretty good......but they're still pretty young.

Chrono Trigger NEVER gets old...
Damn, just talking about it makes me want to play it again.
Offtopic: Do any of you think that the Entity is a reference to the player himself?

Quem disse que a boca é tua?

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

That's my impression was.  Hell of a thing sending a group of teenager to certain doom.  Fun though! Makes a man feel big.

Halo 1 still blows away most FPS games released on the Wii and some on ps360. I wouldn't call it old just yet...

Otherwise any good SHMUP , 2D fighter or platformer doesn't age at all as those games dont really evolve anymore.

RA2 in the list but no SC? Hmmm.... SC has a better storyline, more engaging and lasts longer imho than RA2

FFX is a huge miss on the "story"-level I find. And the fact that the game is breeze-through easy doesn't add to the lasting appeal of FFX.

SHMUP

Whaaat?

Games like MUSHA (Genesis), Blazeon(SNes), Ikaruga (Dreamcast), Radiant Silvergun (Saturn), Gradius ...etc

2D games don't age as badly because little has been done to evolve the genre (can't think of a better word) since the SNES/Gen days where it was at it's peak.

3D games age poorly because they are still evolving. Many games released last gen or the gen before have an evolved/superior sequel in this gen.

Aria of Sorrow was better than Dawn of Sorrow.

There I said it!
