Forums - Nintendo - Another Take on the Wii Quantum of Solace reviews

Not as good as MOH, but somewhere between call of duty 3 (wii) and MOH, you can't customize them very much, but there are a couple of sliders. Also its a different gameplay system....its kind of like Gears of war with the take cover, shoot, take cover, shoot, mechanic...

Well I can deal with that because I was one of the few people that liked COD3 controls.  Thought they were much better than Red Steel and once I adjusted them to the right settings I could beat that game on hard with barely taking damage haha.  Needed better AI to fit my skills.

But if it's basically in between COD3 and MOH with good camera then I might invest into it because I'm really only looking into the online aspect and it's got some other good functions such as splitscreen that CoD: WaW doesn't have.

It proabably did get screwed a bit in the review, but I can't say personally. The major issue is the framerate it seems, if it's as bad as IGN said than that is a major reduction in points, they called it "unplayable" at points. But you say it's not THAT bad? If they overexaggerated, I would say a 6 might be in order.

P.S. 900th post! It's over 900! hehe, sorry for the corny joke, but I couldn't wait until 9,000.

If Carnival games can get a 70 from Nintendo power and game party got a 60, this deserves way better.  I think people are comparing it to the ps360 version without taking the Wiis limitations into consideration....

But the Wii's limitations SHOULD bring the score down somewhat, no?  But yes I agree too low, maybe a little overzealous.

and yes I'm one of the people on here that plays games for fun rather than masturbating to the graphics, so they don't bother me, In fact it looks better than some of it competitors like both wii Medal of Honor games, and others.

Same here which is why a lot of my multiplatform buys have been on Wii and I haven't been too disappointed wiht many of those choices.

Just a follow up question, is the graphics good or bad since I cant tell by just watching videos alone...

Some missions look really good like the garden level at the beginning or the Casino level, others look kind of crappy like the "sneaking around a boat dock" level....so its a mixed bag, it really seems like multiple groups made different levels without talking to eachother or something.

Well I could buy games on 360 that are multiplatform such as CoD: WaW or Sonic Unleashed later this year but I'm not going to get something I already don't have.  At least when I get, CoD in this case, I know I"m getting a different experience than the same old online shooter.  And sure MOHH2 beat it there but not bad to have another one after a year.

And a lot of Wii versions of multiplatform games do this for me and that's why I buy them on Wii.  Because I'm not out to buy every freaking game that gets good reviews or better reviews for the PS360 version because they get that for being safe and unoriginal.  So I don't mind taking a chance with a Wii title that gets the lesser reviews but more unique and intriguing gameplay experience.  If it weren't for Wii my video game choices would be slim because it wouldn't take long for me to get tired of playing the same game over and over again.

Hm. I can deal with that, since the major aspect of the game isnt the singleplayer anyway... I bought Time Splitters Future perfect because of the multiplayer mode I dont even finished the single player mode... BTW what about the splitcreen?

Yeah, I bolded that part...

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

I'll be able to play splitscreen on Saturday (one of my friend's is coming over for the weekend) so I can keep you posted, my fiance doesn't like FPS's so I couldn't get anywhere with that...

Wow watching those 3 videos it's almost like a different game. I mean it's like some used one engine and others didn't. Is it possible they weren't able to finish the Wii version in time so they had to use and older engine. If so that's kinda saddening.
