Forums - Gaming - Fix that Franchise!

Anyone want to have a little fun playing developer?

Think of a franchise that has jumped the shark, got completely to pot, or just plain sucks.  Now fix it.  What would you do differently?  Let's try not to kill them.  Just make them better.

Or maybe there is a franchise that you really love and just want to give it a funny make over.  Super Paper Metroid anyone?

The only rule is to keep this as free of hate as possible.  Let's try not to bash games, but see how we can make them better.

Thanks for playing.

Sounds like a fun thread.

How about Final Fantasy, except with a big twist......your character is........E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-EVILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That only took 5 seconds and I just came up with an incredibly creative idea...

by Squeenix standards.........

Perfect Montana. What would happen? Are you trying to destroy the world? Would make the whole Final Fantasy moniker make sense for the first time.

Technically Final Fantasy has done that, in a few varying ways.

Final Fantasy II: Your initial 4th party member turns out to be a significant bad guy.
Final Fantasy IV: You start out as a member of the oppressive governing force.
Final Fantasy VI: Various characters have deep tie-ins to the enemy.

There may be more I missed, but those ones stand out.

Grand Theft Lego Star Wars. Run jobs for Jabba. Hook up with Leia for extra life. Leave trails of lego pieces in your wake, taking a few to add to your wardrobe.

I had an idea where your hero is corrupted from his childhood and later teams with demons to destroy civilization....to put it simply...

But an American making a traditional style RPG? Oh goodness, foolish dreams.

Sonic needs another game like Secret Rings, but with improved controls. Not necessarily on rails, but in a fairly narrow environment so as to solve camera issues without taking away the game's sense of speed.

Less focus on collecting and solving puzzles (like in Sonic '06) is also a must.

Get rid of all the excess characters, and focus on Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Eggman. The others can make appearances, but I seriously get sick of playing as Big the Cat.

Less Amy Rose=more win.

We also need less focus on storylines. No one plays Sonic for the story. Better voice actors and sound tracks would help a lot too.

Sarcasm a little over your head there? :-p

And my pick: Excite Truck 2: Now With More Online Edition.

Zelda: Link is evil and destroys the world. (end of fix)

So the theme here seems to be anti-hero so far. We really want to be evil....don't we? Lol. I suppose the only real evidence that we have in most games that our character is a hero and doing good is that we believe he is. In most games while the baddies are trying to attack us....a singular entity.....we are destroying thousands of them. Seems like we're already walking on a little shaky moral ground there.

How many turtles and mushroomy things must die to save a silly little girl?
