Forums - Gaming - Japanese gamers prefer DSPSP , only 4.3% use Wii as their primary system

From the latest Famitsu survey:

" 26.8% stated that they use the DS the most, just barely edging out the PSP; only 4.3% of users stated that the Wii was their primary system. 31% planned to buy a PS3 in the future, the most popular response to the question."

Also, potentially good news for X360 fans:

"Remarkably, the Japanese gaming public is a lot more open to buying an Xbox 360 -- only 37% said that they are completely uninterested, with 13% having solid plans and 23% planning to get one once the game they're looking forward to gets released."

"- Among portable games, Square Enix's Dragon Quest IX was the most heavily anticipated by attendees in the survey (just as it was in Famitsu's survey last year), followed closely by Dissidia: Final Fantasy. On the console front, Capcom's Monster Hunter 3 was by far the most popular game on display, with Final Fantasy XIII and Resident Evil 5 a surprisingly distant second and third place."

oh WOW monster hunter is huge in Japan, to think it tops FFXIII and RE5 by a country mile. Anyway the DS and PSP sales show that this is the case in Japan, 0.01% probably use the PS3 and 360 as there primary system. :/

Final Fantasy XIII comes to mind.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Well there were no major Wii software releases in Japan for months now, therefore no suprise that people feel like it's a secondary system.

No suprises softwarewise, MH III is massive

I think it will sell well, but not THAT well. My prediction is 500,000 (LTD) or so for Japan.
