-- PS2 should hit / pass 150 million shipped easy. Not to mention with current sales i wouldn't be surprised if it took Next-Box, Wii-2 or PS4 announcements to finally kill the console.

I wouldn't care if the DS passes PS2, it's a handheld. I'm talking about consoles personally, if a console beats the PS2 that'll be impressive.

is it really already at 130 million? goodlord. even if it has already sold 130mil i don't think 150 is possible. but ya never know. i'd think 145million is about the tops. that's gonna be tough for wii to beat. ds should go over 150 million though.

Yeah, the PS2 is just insane. And remember there is one more loltastic price cut to bring it down 20 to 30 bucks more. It's insane really. I mean, there are still pockets of cool games coming out for it, the gem being Persona 4. The Wii will have to fight the systems longevity and it will be tough. I don't think we will see the killing blow to the PS2 (as if a God could die) until the next round of consoles burst onto the scene. I know old systems tend to sell for a while, but this rate of sales has to be breaking records, no?

Wii is set to surpass PS2 actually (look at my sig). IMO it will depend of Wii sales after the end of the actual generation.

I'd be suprised if I hadn't said this before somewhere.... but for the love of God read the thread, Sony have only shipped ~132 million.... I'd love to know how they managed to sell more than are available.
