Forums - Sales - VGchartz isnt including 360 bundles in weekly sales?

The Forza and Marvel bundle were definitely counted here on VGChartz

http://vgchartz.com/aweekly.php?date=39404&console=&maker=&boxartz=1

As you can see in the link, both games were tracked.

As for why these bundles aren't showing up, I don't know as I haven't looked into it. But I'm sure VGChartz will be tracking them, as they always track official bundles.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Are those retail based bundles or corporate bundles? That make s a profound difference in racking the sales.

The NA Arcade Sega Tennis bundle, and the Pro/Elite Lego indiana/Kung Fu Panda are official bundles. Kust like Forza and Marvel were last year.

So every new units shipped comes with those games per respective SKU in the US?

If so, when was their official roll out and what is the shelf space ratio of between them and the non-bundled units?

PES was huge on PS3 compared to 360 even in UK. In Italy PS3 PES sold 112k compared to just 34k for 360. And GFK does count bundles because otherwise Halo 3 should never have come back in top 40 UK chart. So VGChartz data is almost spot on.

if the Lego Indiana/Kung Fu and Sega Tennis bundles for North America isnt included THIS WEEK, then something is wrong.

They are advertised on tv, ive seen them in stores, so they exist. At the very least, those two bundles must be in NA charts this week.

They were included this week.  I work in retail, and every 360 sold was a bundle.  MS sent extra copies of each game to  retailers so that older SKUs without the games already in the box will still be sold as a bundle.  As in, every 360 sold last week was a bundle.

Also, I know who you are, I know where you're from, and I know your posting style.  Don't bring any System Wars BS here.  If you do, you won't last long.

first question: yes

second question: 2 weeks ago. and the bundle includes all 360s sold.

2008 360 prediction: 26 million (thus surpassing XBOX lifetime sales in one year less time).

As long as there are 360 bashers, I will be there to do something about it.

when i first joined i was told by someone that vg doesnt track bundled softward because its difficult to get the information, so maybe thats it

@Ghost: How do you know that PES bundles aren't included in vgchartz numbers?

because the gap between the 360 and PS3 version was too wide. And since its popular, the 360 weekly numbers should have risen a little, not go down.

That aside, even if your right, there was a Lego Indiana/Kung Fu bundle for both Europe and NA released last week that should be in the charts, but they arent. Even the Arcade Europe/NA Sega Tennis bundle is omitted.

Bundled software sales are still sales. Wii Sports counts, GT5: Prologue in Japan counts, yet these 360 bundled games dont for some reason.

The difference is, those X360 bundles are OPTIONAL... you are not forced to get them based on which model you want.

Wii Sports is given with every Wii in America and Europe (though not some "others" countries)

GT5P in Japan is given with all PS3s except the few that Little Big PLanet comes with, but that is more expensive and sells less.

Europeans are given the choice to buy an X360, or and X360 with Lego/KungFu.... but they choose it without those games (which I certainly would, Kung Fu Panda is not exactly high quality material)

Similarly they are not forced to buy the PES bundle, most PES sales will come from game copies only for people who had the console already, then a few might have wanted the game at the same time that they went to buy a X360 so they get the bundle.

This.  Don't believe it's like last year where Forza 2 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance were bundled with all of them in America.  At least I haven't seen any requirements where I've been that when you buy a 360 that Kung Fu/LIJ come with it although I do know its an option.

But I've been wrong before.  Haven't seen any of these where I live

But yea it does seem those bundles will take effect whenever MS deems it the holidays which some are saying were this week or last week. Looks like 360 will have 3 new platinum titles haha. And people get mad at Wii Sports for being bundled haha.

In Canada, they have been selling thse bundles for at least a week or more. Also heavily advertised in Bestbuys and Futureshop. I dropped by the Bestbuys and there are no other XBOXes other than the bundled ones. So in theory we should have seen those games appearing on the list.
