Forums - Gaming - Well, the Fallout hater bought Fallout 3

I hate this game so far and might stop playing it completely. What is it meant to be? Thought it was not going to be a shooter but everywhere I go I get people shooting at me. I shoot them like a million times and they don't die. I'm better off equipping a bat and going in swinging. Am I missing something?

That is pretty normal at the beginnin tuoyo.  How higher your level how more chance you have your bullets reach them.

My honest opinion:

If Bethsada could of had Mass Effect's 3rd person shooting aspects, and kept VATS, this would of been the best RPG ever created. After ME, I'm not a big fan of the borked FPS roles that Fallout takes, and the 3rd person aspects are atrocious.

I'm 30 hours in, level 14, and have 50% of the main quests done. I still have a load of side quests to finish still.

The writing, locations, and overall "feel" are superb. I hope that Bethsada takes the lessons they've learned from Fallout 3 (especially the writing, VATs and less-is-more approach to NPCs) and includes them in TESIV. Oh, and keep the M rating in regards to violence and writing.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

You'd think with all the swearing and blood and gore and the fact they already have an M rating that they would have left the player prostitution and child killing in the game.

@mrstickball

Bethesda. TES5. :)

I still think that Fallout 3 should be played 1st person regardless. When you are walking up a hill at sunset, you really feel youre in real life graphics, and 3rd person spoils the believability somewhat.

Gasp. Say it ain't so, rocketpig. Say it ain't so.

Really, this game has been on my "maybe" list for a while. I look forward to reading more of your thoughts on it.

your impressions are always amusing rocketpig, i recently bought fallout 3 but i haven't had the chance to play the game

Ari - That's like saying you recently bought Mass Effect and haven't played it.

I just visited Andale (extremely South of Megaton) and OMG/LOL at the premise of the town.

In the current climate that would have been an open invitation to have the game vilified and probably pulled in a quite a few other countries, particularly any child killing.  The VATS option in particular allows for slo-mo exploding heads, etc. and they were never going to allow that with children.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
