I just want to verify libellule, you're not Mike Torres, right?

What an ass to completely judged this game on a few clips! If he didn't like the last few games, why in farking hell would he like this one? What was he expecting?

@Smashchu, What better stealth games? Splinter Cell? That's very debatable and would likely come down to taste in the end. Of course there are better action games, this isn't an action game in essence, it's a sneaker(thanks Parokki)

MGS4 is just another Metal Gear Solid game<---- NO SHIT! that's what it's supposed to be. What a too

You judge games on what you're given. Plenty of people have been heaping praises based on the exact same clips. How is that ok whereas this is not? The truth is, of course, there is no difference, except the final viewpoint.

Nowhere in the article did he say he didn't like the previous games. You don't need to not like previous games to want change in your new games. I loved Ocarina of Time but I was sorely disappointed by Twilight Princess because it was very similar to Ocarina. The same thing, I'm sure, applies to Metal Gear Solid.

So in other words, let him have his opinion on a game without calling him a tool or an ass. If it appears very little has changed from the previous games, then his viewpoint is very valid. You might be happy with the same old MGS but that doesn't mean everyone has to.

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

i put my hands up.
i admit that i was riding the MGS4 hype train.
this article made me get off that train and put things into a new perspective...

not sayin its not gonna be a great game, but it was so hyped up...so pretty.....

Did he seriously just suggest that gameplay hasn't improved/been largely changed?

It's overly apparent that he hasn't played the previous installments in-depth, and even more apparent that he did not pay attention during the gameplay video.

Over-the shoulder aiming while walking/running, FPS in-motion, crawling/laying on back, OctoCamo, largely improved animation (As well as tons added), grenade arch, revamped CQC, these are all things, among others, that have been added/enhanced since the previous games. Not to mention the whole theme of "stealth in battlefield", which (Correct me if I'm wrong) is the first time we've seen something like that in the stealth genre.

Sorry if that was a little fan-boyish, but I thought one of the most obvious things about the video was how improved the gameplay experience seemed to have been.

No shiet!!!

The whole vid was all about gameplay, the whole damn thing.  A few legit new sites are wondering if the gameplay will be to much for noobs.

I expect more of this crap from people, Xbots have finally got it that they are not getting MGS4.  So more and more idiots with blogs will talk shiet about MGS4.  If you cant have it you must hate it.

Honestly I never enjoyed MGS gameplay. The plot and music is some of my favorite in any game series, but if gameplay remains unchanged, I'd say this is one I'm not going to be buying.

What I find funny about exclusiveness is that it has a double standard. Sites say that GTA IV exclusive content is only for the 360, but then they say that it could change, considering that "exclusive" doesn't mean much these days. However, when MGS4 gets 'confirmed' exclusive, the same sites say "Well, that settles it. No MGS4 for 360."

Well, first, reviews are hardcore gamers, so they'll like it.

There is definatly some truth to it. I feel the the hype is a bit over rated, to the point where people think it can take on Halo. This game can't even take on Metrois Prime 3(a little much, but you know what I mean).

I enjoyed MGS:TS, but I think that he's right, their are better action games out thier, as well as better stelth games.

Halo is overrated as the best game ever made by nearly everybody. Metroid is good but not that good, and mgs cant be compared cuz they are different in nearly every way. There are better game action games out there ofcourse. MGS4 hasnt come out yet so I wont talk about it much. The gameplay is a little different in this game.

Once again you illustrate complete lack of knowledge.  Have you spent any time playing the Halo series?  I don't particularly care for FPS games but I enjoyed the hell out of Halo 1 and I'm seriously looking forward to 2 and 3.  I've been around FPS games since the original wolfenstein and have played my fair share but none have kept my interest nor satisfied my nearly as much as Halo.  As far as gameplay is concerned, Halo 1 was a phenomenal game and deserves its rave reviews.

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

Oh and Vizunary, for the record the best stealth game is Beyond Good and Evil, at least as far as overall game quality goes.
