Forums - General - Congratulations To President Obama

I would have to say even though I did not want to see him win he ran a very good campaign. I will support him as prez, I will give him a chance. I think if he follows through on his promise to be bipartison he could be a very good president. While I do not think he is as good of choice for prez as McCain, I do think he will be good for America. Right now there is much hate, and fear if he moderates he could really become Reagan 2. That is the key, he can forgot about the 45-47% of Americans who did not vote for him.

Now I also believe McCain needs to be acknowledged for how well he did against the odds. The economy, George Bush's unpopularity, the media.

Obama won fair and square, and I congradulate President Obama. It had to overcome alot to get where his is.

This is what makes America unique. The ability to fight like cats and dogs, but then come together afterward.

And we need to come together as the next 2 years are going to be very difficult.

That's all he can ask of you is for a chance. Glad to see you are being a big person about this bigjon, as quite a few have not taken it so well.

Who knows, Obama might even ask McCain to be in his Cabinet.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Now all we need is some halogamer action.

Trust me, it's not that unique. ;)

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Great thread bigjon.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Bigjon, you're ok, dude.

Thank you, BigJon. McCain gave a very gracious concession speech and definitely needs to be acknowledged for his defying the odds, bravery and service to his country.

Clearly, America Smells what Barack is cookin'

Now for the next 4 years the democrats will have to take accountability. If they run the country into the ground, they have no one to blame but themselves, since they own a majority in both houses and also have the presidency.

Using history as a guide, there is some legitimate concern. Hopefully Obama will govern as he ran and not allow Pelosi and Reid to push him around.
