Forums - Sony - New White Knight Chronicles screens!

And it seems that their is indeed a graphical gap between the offline and online modes, though that was expected.

My only real complaint would be the ground textures and the rather obtuse HUD (though the latter seems rather typical of Japanese games, despite the offerings that HDTVs allow).

looks very good, lets hope this is the game that pushes the ps3 above 20k in Japan.

Wow those cities are huge. Can't wait for this game.

Apparently new footage might be going live tonight. I'm assuming it's the trailer from TGS, since that has yet to be released officially.  All we have is off cam footage.

From another forum:

Scheduled for "release" (for lack of a better term) on 11/5/2008 @ 3PM JPN time.

For those that are too lazy to figure out what time that is in the US:
~10:00PM Pacific Time on 11/4/2008

This will be a web release and potentially password protected since you need info on a card that Level 5 handed out at their booth at TGS2008. Originally was planned for 10/31/2008.

If it's not password restricted, I'll post the link up later tonight...if not, you guys might want to scour around youtube or gametrailers.com or what not a little bit after that time.

Sorry, I don't have the link to this particular page at work atm...will post later tonight.

There are huge cities in some other RPGs, but they usually limit to how much you can explore...

Uhmmm, where exactly is the impressive feature in these screens. I found Lost Odyssey boring to death but it still looks FAR superior at least graphically. And Last Remnant looks more impressive too.
Argh... another linear uninspired JRPG. I'm glad that the genre is declining. Any comparison to Western titles that are released almost simultaneously (like Fallout 3) is doomed to oblivion.

And in Lost Odyssey you're one guy walking around pretty linear paths with constant loading.

WKC is more like IU.  The environments are large and open, and your party follows you around at all times in the overworld.

I'm not sure why you brought up this issue in the first place, though.  Nobody in this thread actually said these screens are impressive, so you basically made up a point about the game to contend.  Trolling at its finest.
