Forums - Microsoft - Quick theory on MS's Gears of War strategy.

Gears of War one was assumed to have gone to PC for increased revenue.  But what if it actually went there to increase the game's fanbase.

With the Xbox 360 now much cheaper and Epic saying Gears 2 probably won't come to PC, perhaps it was all a plan to shift some PC gamers to the Xbox 360.

Thoughts?

true, for a lot pf ps3 owners they have a pc as well and im pretty sure they tried gears of war on it and its a good way to make some consumers buy a 360.

good point ,, pc gamers who loved the first one may need to get a 360 for this

wasnt gears 1 at first not announced for pc till months after its release? im probably wrong cuz i cant remember what i did yesterday...cocaine is one hell of a drug

That's very possible. MS are masters at marketing their products.

How many sales did Gears have on PC?

Thats a good theory, since we hear alot of PS3 fans have Computers and play 360 games on there, that would actually make sense.

You're probably right, they always say it wont release on PC as to not kill the potential console sales. BTW your sig looks pretty stupid now doesn't it :)
