Eurogamer 9/10~
| Tremble said: Well well well, I got a few questions =p - First, is the game harder than R1 (I'm not that good at fps games so ...)? - Second, is it scarier than the first one? - Finally, is the story better than the first one? Thank you, I can't wait for this game ^^ |
1) I found it a little harder. There seems to be more cheap deaths too, grenade tosses or other heavy weapon hits. Your health also appears to be very low even on easy. But you have a fully rebounding health bar, so you can duck behind walls or whatever. There are also many checkpoints, so dieing does not send you far away.
2) I don't think it was as scary, or as many jump moments.
3) The story is alot better then the first one. There are many times when your group of guys are talking or you are receiving chat from the HQ. The cinematics are also very good.
Oh man, this game is sooo awesome. I'm like 3 hrs in or so in normal and I'm up to where Cappelli just got 'taken out' by that large monster thing (seriously, they gotta have the name of these big bosses when they show up) and I just killed him. I'm not sure, I think that was Idaho. Anyways, this game is super awesome. Honestly, I've read parts of some reviews that gave it a kinda low score, and one of their complaints is that everybody goes after u. I've had a few large fire fights where I'm able to get an easy kill because chimera are too busy shooting my teammates.
I know we want to keep the thread on the single player, but I played some cooperative last night and it is great as well. I got tired playing the Orick level in the beta, the additional maps are extremely difficult. My team was only able to complete 1 mission successfully. The only problem is everyone wants to be the medic.
Single player is great. The grims are my favorite enemy so far.
Thanks for the input, Jeff.

Going through pitch black buildings with Spinners popping out randomly in Chicago was far scarier than anything in the first, imo.

yea and in Idaho when you go through the buildings, and those conversion cuccon things are there and nothing pops out of them, but later on, like one or two pop out when u least expect it...that startled me.
OH MAN, I just beat the game, WOW. I did not see that coming. I liked it even though many ppl didnt. People that have beaten it, what do you think about the ending?
I give it a 9.3 out of 10. A must buy for PS3 owners.
